Nipsey Hussle Friend Shot During Attack Expected to Be Released from Jail

4/18/2019 12:34 PM PDT
Breaking News

Nipsey Hussle's friend who was shot during the fatal attack is about to get sprung from jail.

As we first reported ... Kerry Lathan -- a 56-year-old man who was shot in the back when Nipsey was killed outside his The Marathon clothing store -- was arrested days after because one of his parole conditions is not associating with known gang members. You'll recall cops said Nipsey was a member of the Rollin 60s Crips.

Lathan was transferred to Men's Central Jail in downtown L.A. but a rep with L.A. Superior Court tells us the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation withdrew its petition to revoke his parole.

It's unclear why the Corrections Department is making this move but as you know ... Nipsey's been celebrated as a hero in his community by everyone from L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti to President Obama.

In fact, Nipsey was supposed to meet with city officials the day after he was brutally gunned down ... to hold a gang violence summit with LAPD.

Lathan could reportedly be a free man again by Thursday afternoon.

Kodak Black Released After Drugs & Weapons Arrest Hiding Behind a Ton of Cash

4/18/2019 11:33 AM PDT

11:33 AM PT -- WKBW Buffalo just got video of Kodak leaving jail ... and covering his face with a big stack of cash. He kept quiet before piling into a minivan and driving off.

10:00 AM PT -- Kodak's show tonight in Connecticut at Foxwoods Resort Casino has been canceled. A rep tells us his show Friday night in Philadelphia will still happen.

9:12 AM PT -- Kodak has been released on $20,000 cash bond.

5:24 AM PT -- Cops say Kodak and 2 others attempted to enter the U.S. at the Lewiston-Queenston International Bridge in a Cadillac Escalade with a temporary California registration. They say Kodak was the driver, and officers discovered weed on him ... after further inspection of the vehicle they also found a Glock 9mm pistol which was undeclared by anyone in the Escalade.

There was also a Porsche traveling with Kodak's team with 3 other individuals. The driver of the Porsche copped to having 2 loaded handguns and a third was found in the trunk ... aaaand more marijuana. A law enforcement source described one of the weapons as an "AK-style handgun with a 30-round magazine. It looks like an AK, but it's a handgun."

Stetson President and Madarrow Smith were both arrested for criminal possession of a weapon ... Jeantony Saintmelus -- who was driving the Porsche -- was booked for criminal possession of a weapon and possession of marijuana.

While Kodak never made it to his show in Boston ... his tour bus did, and angry fans surrounded it after getting word he was a no-show.

4/18 3:27 AM PT -- It's now very clear why Kodak Black canceled his show in Boston ... the rapper was arrested on weapons and drugs charges at the U.S. Border. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ, Kodak and 3 other people were stopped by U.S. Customs Agents Wednesday. We're told Kodak was arrested for criminal possession of a weapon -- a  felony -- and a misdemeanor possession of marijuana charge.

Multiple sources familiar with the arrest tell us Kodak was traveling with at least two guns ... and stopped when entering the U.S. from Canada.

The rapper is still in custody, being held on a $20,000 cash bond or $40,000 bond.

Kodak Black mysteriously canceled a concert last minute -- pissing off a ton of fans in the process -- and his team tells us his location and the reason for the cancellation is currently unknown.

Kodak was supposed to perform at The House of Blues in Boston Wednesday night but never showed. Fans waited for hours for the rapper before Kodak's team pulled the plug on the gig ... forcing local cops to have to assist in clearing the venue.

Here's where things get weird, we've spoken with several members of Kodak's team -- and everyone is telling us the same thing -- they don't know why the show was canceled and they can't get in touch with Kodak or those traveling with him.

What we know for sure, Kodak performed in Detroit Saturday night ... but at some point between then and Wednesday's show he's allegedly gone off the radar.

While it's highly unlikely his team just doesn't know where he is, or what happened, that's the story they've been sticking to for the last several hours.

Pauly D I'm About To Visit Mike In Prison ... Situation Wants Fan Mail!!!

4/18/2019 11:14 AM PDT

Pauly D says Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino is holding up well behind bars ... and he's about to check up on the Sitch in person for a mini "Jersey Shore" reunion.

We got Pauly D heading into NBC Studios in NYC, and he gave us a super positive update on his buddy's prison stint. Sounds like Mike's making the most of his situation, all things considered.

Pauly D knows what's up, he says they communicate all the time -- and you can do the same, because Mike's an avid reader who loves getting fan mail.

Pauly says the best way for fans to show their support is by busting out a pen and paper and showing some love to Mike in prison.

Of course, there's nothing like a face-to-face meeting, and Pauly says his is going down soon.

Sitch is 3 months into his 8-month sentence for tax evasion, and he's got plenty of good things waiting for him on the outside ... but while he's inside, ya gotta imagine he's getting jacked, and Pauly thinks he's gonna come out rocking abs like you've never seen before!!!

Conor McGregor New Arrest Video From Cell Phone Incident

4/18/2019 11:37 AM PDT

TMZ Sports has obtained police body cam footage showing Conor McGregor being handcuffed and arrested at a private home by Miami Beach PD over the cell phone smashing incident.

The footage was shot on March 11 ... hours after Conor got into it with Ahmed Abdirzak outside the Fontainebleau hotel in Miami.

As we previously reported, McGregor went after Abdirzak around 5:21 AM -- snatching the guy's phone and then stomping it multiple times. McGregor eventually left the premises with Abdirzak's phone.

Abdirzak filed a police report and the Miami Beach PD tracked down McGregor at a private residence nearby -- eventually arresting him just before 10 AM.

In the footage, McGregor is cooperative and quiet as cops instruct him to place his hands behind his back while they place him in handcuffs and put him into a squad car to be transported to jail.

McGregor has since been charged with felony robbery and misdemeanor criminal mischief. If convicted on all counts, Conor faces up to 6 years in prison.

Conor has pled not guilty on all charges. A trial is scheduled to begin in May.

Abdirzak initially filed a lawsuit against Conor -- but later struck a settlement with the UFC fighter and dropped his suit.

Rapper G Herbo Arrested for Getting Physical with Ari Fletcher

4/18/2019 10:06 AM PDT

Rapper G Herbo is facing a battery charge after an argument with his baby mama, Ariana Fletcher, allegedly turned physical ... TMZ has learned.

According to Atlanta Police ... the rapper and Ari got into it Wednesday morning -- mostly yelling at each other -- but at some point, cops say Herbo assaulted her. Cops say he then left the location with their son but later returned ... and after officers spoke to him, they arrested him for simple battery.

Cops say Ariana sustained minor scratches during the altercation, and right now it's unclear what triggered the alleged assault. Cops are continuing their investigation.

Perhaps complicating matters for G Herbo is the fact Ari is now dating boxer Gervonta Davis ... and is actually about 14 weeks pregnant with his child.

What's interesting is Ari and Gervonta were out partying Tuesday night at Allure Gentlemen's Club where G Herbo also happened to be. The trio was NOT there together. It's unclear if any encounter there might have led to the alleged assault the next morning.

Herbo is still in jail. His bond has been set at $2,000.

'L&HH' Star Tommie Lee Denied Enrollment In Court's Mental Health Program

4/17/2019 11:02 AM PDT

Tommie Lee's past is coming back to bite her ... because prosecutors say her lengthy rap sheet means she's ineligible to enter a mental health program -- which would have spared from time behind bars.

We broke the story ... the 'Love & Hip Hop' star submitted a petition in her child abuse case to allow her to get treatment for a serious mental illness, which she claimed she was diagnosed with around the same time she was charged with child abuse in Georgia.

Tommie got her answer -- no can do.

According to a new legal doc obtained by TMZ ... the Assistant District Attorney determined Lee's criminal history and background -- along with other evidence, facts and allegations -- "make her an inappropriate candidate for an accountability court."

As we reported ... Tommie was indicted in January on multiple child abuse charges for allegedly assaulting her middle school-aged daughter. She's facing 7 charges, and since she's been shut down for the mental health program -- she could get up to 54 years in prison, if convicted.

Lee was arrested twice before in connection to this case -- once for the alleged assault in October, and again less than 24 hours later for violating a court order to stay away from her kid.

She was also tossed back in jail in March for showing up drunk for a hearing in the case.

As for her mental health issues ... Tommie told our Raquel Harper she's bipolar in a 2016 episode of "Raq Rants."

Ex-NFL Player Cierre Wood Charged with Murdering 5-Year-Old Girl

4/17/2019 7:06 AM PDT
Breaking News

An ex-NFL running back is facing murder and child abuse charges in the death of a 5-year-old girl -- after officials say he killed her through rigorous exercise used to punish her.

28-year-old Cierre Wood -- a former star running back at Notre Dame -- appeared in a Las Vegas courtroom Tuesday in the death of his girlfriend's daughter, La'Rayah Davis

Davis died on April 9 -- and prosecutors say it's because Wood forced her to complete a hellacious workout routine unsuited for a 5-year-old.

Officials say Wood claimed Davis had behavior issues -- he also described her as "chunky" -- so to punish her, Wood would force her to run wind sprints and do sit-ups and wall squats inside their apartment.

Officials say Wood admitted Davis couldn't complete a second round of sit-ups on April 9 -- and flailed backward, smacking the back of her head against the floor.

She then got up and swayed -- and then collapsed. She was pronounced dead a short time later.

Officials say Wood had a slogan for the punishment -- calling it, "Learning through fun."

The girl's mother, Amy Taylor, has also been charged with murder -- and officials say she also abused the child before her death.

Prosecutors say Taylor admits the 5-year-old was complaining of chest pains in the days before her death -- after her mother had sat on her chest and stomach to punish her for misbehaving.

Officials say Taylor also admitted to having "popped" her daughter on the day she died.

During Tuesday's hearing, the judge says photos of Davis' body show severe injuries -- and told the court, "Once you’ve seen them, you can’t ever unsee them."

The case is due back in court soon.

As for Wood, he was a stud running back in college -- rushing for 1,102 yards as a junior in 2011. He was suspended in 2012 for 2 games for violating team rules.

Wood signed with the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent in 2013 but never panned out.

He bounced around to the Patriots, Seahawks and Bills ... before ultimately landing in the Canadian Football League. He hasn't been on a CFL roster since May 2018.

Jussie Smollett State's Attorney Kim Foxx Calls Him 'Washed Up Celeb'

4/16/2019 6:52 PM PDT
Breaking News

6:48 PM PT -- Kim Foxx has responded to the release of her messages, stating, "After the indictment became public, I reached out to Joe to discuss reviewing office policies to assure consistencies in our charging and our use of appropriate charging authority."

She continues, "I was elected to bring criminal justice reform and that includes intentionality, consistency, and discretion. I will continue to uphold these guiding principals."

State's Attorney Kim Foxx called Jussie Smollett a "washed up celeb" just 2 weeks before dismissing all charges against him for allegedly triggering a massive police investigation based on a big, fat lie.

Foxx sent text messages to certain staff members -- this according to CBS2 in Chicago. The upshot -- she seems to be saying the Grand Jury grossly overcharged the "Empire" actor, especially relative to another celebrity defendant -- R. Kelly.

Foxx wrote ... "Pedophile with 4 victims 10 counts. Washed up celeb who lied to cops, 16." As we reported, Kelly was charged with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

As you know ... the State's Attorney dismissed all 16 counts against Jussie and suggested he had performed community service -- which he did not. Point of fact ... he worked at Jesse Jackson's charity for a few hours the weekend before charges were dismissed, but it was not court ordered or monitored.

The City of Chicago is now suing Jussie for all the investigative costs and various penalties, which could amount to half a million bucks.

Foxx says in the texts this was a clear case of overcharging ... as she put it, charging Jussie with 16 counts on a minor felony "becomes exhibit A."

The texts were first reported by CBS Chicago's Charlie De Mar.

Jaguars' Doug Marrone He Wasn't Kiddin' ... Went 57 MPH In A 35 In 1997 Arrest!!

4/16/2019 2:19 PM PDT

Doug Marrone wasn't lying ... the Jaguars head coach WAS arrested back in 1997 for the same thing Leonard Fournette got busted for last week!!

TMZ Sports has obtained police docs from June 20, 1997 ... when Marrone -- a Georgia Tech assistant at the time -- was popped for doing 57 MPH in a 35 in Daytona Beach Shores, Florida.

According to the docs ... Marrone was pulled over at 11:59 AM in a 1997 Buick with fellow GT assistant coach Lance Thompson riding shotgun.

Cops say when they checked Doug's record ... they found he had a suspended license stemming from a previously unpaid ticket -- and they slapped the cuffs on him.

Turns out ... Marrone needed his boss -- legendary college football coach George O'Leary -- to get him out of jail ... 'cause cops say O'Leary paid Marrone's $100 bond!!!

Of course, Marrone's star running back suffered a similar fate last Thursday when Fournette was pulled over at a car wash and arrested for driving on a suspended license.

Marrone announced to reporters Tuesday Fournette wouldn't be punished for the incident ... saying he knows firsthand it ain't exactly the biggest deal.

By the way, Doug also wasn't kiddin' when he said it hurt being put in cuffs back then ... 'cause cops say he tipped the scales at 6'5", 305 pounds!!

Oh, and cops also say he had a tattoo of a rose on his upper back.

Christopher McDonald Sentenced in DUI Case ... Steers Clear of Jail

4/16/2019 1:33 PM PDT

"Happy Gilmore" star Christopher McDonald just got the equivalent of a penalty stroke in his DUI case ... TMZ has learned.

According to court records ... the actor pled guilty to driving with a blood-alcohol level of .08 or higher stemming from his October 2017 arrest near Lake Arrowhead, CA. He was sentenced to 35 hours of community service, 3-year summary probation, and an alcohol education program which he already completed ... and a day in jail.

The good news -- he got credit for time served in a jail cell following his arrest ... so he doesn't have to spend any additional time behind bars. His other misdemeanor DUI charge was dropped.

We broke the story ... Christopher, best known as Shooter McGavin, got busted after driving his Porsche off the highway, taking out a gas meter and crashing into an embankment.

He then posed for this disheveled mug shot, which could be explained by the fact he was seen chugging beer at an Oktoberfest earlier in the day.

McDonald was also arrested for DWI in 2013 in North Carolina.

Jags' Coach Doug Marrone Won't Punish Fournette ... I Was Arrested Too!

4/16/2019 9:59 AM PDT
Breaking News

The Jacksonville Jaguars will NOT punish Leonard Fournette over last week's arrest -- so says head coach Doug Marrone who admits he was arrested for the exact same thing back in the day!

TMZ Sports posted footage of the superstar RB being handcuffed at a Florida car wash Thursday -- after cops noticed an outstanding warrant for his arrest stemming from an unpaid speeding ticket.

Fournette later paid the fines and now the case is essentially closed -- but the question remains ... will the Jaguars or the NFL suspend Leonard over the incident?

Enter Marrone ... who was adamant the team will NOT take disciplinary action because they don't really think it's a big deal.

In fact, Marrone says people forget to pay speeding tickets all the time -- including him.

That's when Marrone launched into a story about how he was arrested back in the late '90s when he was a college football recruiter -- and the situation sounds identical to Fournette, handcuffs and all.

"I got handcuffed, which is tough when you're my size," Marrone joked.

Marrone says the most important thing is that Leonard learns his lesson and doesn't make the same mistake twice.

As for the NFL, they may feel differently -- and if they find he violated the league's personal conduct policy, he could be disciplined.

Justin & Hailey Bieber Fan Arrested Outside Their Home ... Days After They Moved In

4/15/2019 11:30 AM PDT

Justin Bieber's new home already has an old problem -- a woman was arrested on the property surrounding his and Hailey's Beverly Hills mansion.

Law enforcement sources confirmed to TMZ ... the woman somehow managed to get on the premises of Justin's crib. Police managed to apprehend her Sunday and slapped the cuffs on her on the sidewalk outside the home.

We're told the suspect, who appeared to be chatting on a cell phone before cops confronted her, told police she lived at the house.

Justin and Hailey just bought this lavish estate last month, ending a long search for a new place to call home.

It's the second time in 3 weeks cops arrested a woman for getting too close to the Biebs ... just last month in Laguna Beach a woman got busted after barging into JB's hotel room.

Justin recently announced he's stepping away from music to focus on repairing "deep rooted issues" ... and these fan arrests can't be good for his mental health.

Ex-'Teen Mom' Star Ryan Edwards Out of Jail After Nearly 3 Months

4/15/2019 12:01 PM PDT

Former "Teen Mom" star Ryan Edwards is a free man again ... after spending nearly 3 months behind bars following his arrest for allegedly skipping out on a bar tab.

According to sources at the Hamilton County Jail in Tennessee ... Edwards was released Monday for time served. We're told he was originally sentenced to serve until November, but the judge cut it short. He'd been locked up since late January after cops arrested him for theft of services under $1,000.

We broke the story ... Ryan spent a winter afternoon at Bud's bar in Chattanooga and racked up a $36 bill for 6 Jack Daniel's whiskey, but allegedly walked out without forking over the money.

The bartender called police, who recognized Edwards' face from photos in their Criminal Justice Portal and went and picked him up.

Ryan's mug shot was in the portal for prior offenses ... including drug possession and a probation violation.

Ryan and his wife, Mackenzie Standifer, announced their exit from 'Teen Mom' in 2018 after revealing she was pregnant with their first child. She gave birth to a baby boy in October.

He has another son with fellow 'Teen Mom' star, Maci Bookout.
