Gore Banks Green from Green

Green giant Al Gore makes a pretty penny off of his environmental speaking engagements. The former veep raked in around $100,000 for a recent 75-minute speaking engagement at the University of California, San Diego, reports thesmokinggun.com by way of the L.A. Times.

What did the Big Greenie require during his stay? Only first-class air travel for himself and one companion; $1,000 per day for incidental expenses; security guards; and an environmentally-conscious vehicle for all road travel. The prima donna vice president also demanded that there be no press, video or audio taping of his appearance, and that he have full approval over all banners, logos, and communications materials for the event.

244. To the genius who is TMZDUH (#190) - First, I don't take any comment seriously if it's made by some dipwad who can't even use the "drinking" Kool-aid scenario in the correct context. People drinking "Kool-Aid" are the ones who buy hook line and STINKER whatever Al Gore and the scientists who happen to agree with him say. THAT'S who Kool-Aid drinkers are...people who DON'T question, just drink it up. I'm QUESTIONING Al Gore and his "science."

Also, if you did a little research instead of just drinking Al's Kool-Aid, you would find that there are PLENTY of scientists, climatologists, professors, etc. who think that MAN-MADE GLOBAL WARMING IS CRAP. They believe the earth heats and cools in cyclical patterns and anything WE do to affect these cycles is MINIMAL AT MOST. I mean, come on, the same scientists who were screaming 20-30 years ago that we were going into a full-on ice age are now saying we are going to burn up! It seems to me YOU are the one drinking the Kool-Aid...

245. Dear "Just Wondering" I have a very limited practice here in Southern California. I will tell you that it involves an immune deficiency in children. I enjoy flying first class and I make numerous appearances around the world within my chosen field. I am not a believer of "Global Warming", nor am I concerned with Mr. Gore's personal beliefs....based on your comments, I would be more concerned with your inferiority complex and your inabilty to stay focused within a given topic. Menial texted jabs at my profession, will not resolve your pestilance. Al Gore was Vice President of the United States. Whether you believe he is a "Somebody" or not, he does deserve our utmost respect....the same respect you would want in return.

246. To # KT...

You mentioned that "the same scientists who were screaming 20-30 years ago that we were going into a full ice age are now saying we are going to burn it up." I happen to know a number of scientists who support the global warming theory, and none of them supported a theory or hypothesis regarding a "full ice age," nor do they know others that did. Can you give me a few names just out of curiosity?

247.
Bloated.....he just looks bloated....but not as bloated as that Prius-racing, bong-hogging, pizza-scarfing fathead son of his. What a shame that a certain segmet of the U.S. population is so gullible!

248. Dr. John,

While I certainly agree that we need to revere and honor the offices of The President, and Vice President, I can't agree with you that we must respect the person in (or now out) of that office. Respect is earned, and Al Gore hasn't earned anything except my contempt.

As for Global Warning, the truth is probably somewhere between the two extremes. If we had INEXHAUSTIBLE resources, there would still be no need to waste them. That's just common sense, and common decency toward the people and animals we all share this earth with.

However, Al, and 99% of Hollywood/Celebrities have zero credibility as far as I am concerned. I just don't want to hear anything they have to say. Frankly, I'm tired of the whole group.

The people I do have the utmost respect for are the servicemen and servicewomen and their families that are fighting this war in several different areas. I deeply appreciate the freedoms I have, made possible by their ultimate sacrifice. They're the people I respect, as should everyone, regardless of their view of how this war started, how it's been conducted or what your personal politics are.

249. Perry,

You fall asleep when Al Gore speaks because you haven't got the attention span of a head of lettuce. Gore is an educated man who is trying to educate Americans of all educational backgrounds, but if his presentation takes longer than 10 minutes, half of American falls asleep. All people want now is a dog-and-pony show, which is what Bush gives them. No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the average American.

Hey, at least you spelled your message correctly. That's something. Now if you'll just stop shouting. We're awake already.

250. Gosh...Forgive me "Perry" for judging you...Uncannily, I am the one with lettuce-for-brains....I, am the one that believes without question the rants of a hypocrital, do-as-i-say-not-as-i-do, self righteous blow pig. Yes, it is me, just a simple sheep & a gullible FOOL :)

251. Gore needs to fade away. He is so hypocritical. He did not invent the internet like he wants everyone to believe. The internet was developed at the University of Illinois. Gore needs to stay out of the public eye and focus on the family.

Posted at 10:35AM on Jul 25th 2007 by Gore is a bore

252. Sorry 213, you're squirting H2O into the wind. The ranters and ravers here don't understand what you mean, about the pump.
They all grew up in energy guzzling houses or apartments, and most haven't a clue that hamburger doesn't really grow on trees. If you asked them where beans come from, their answer would be, "From the Super Market, of course".

253. Kudos to Wonder Woman and Honestly. Let's stop the mindless ranting and raving. Let us forget about the "head in a hole" comments by the ones
who refuse to face the facts.
As a Native American Elder, I do not need the "Scientific Evidence" to KNOW that our environment is in trouble. I have seen the Mother Earth's response to polution. I have seen the animals changing their migration habits. I have seen the harm done to the oceans. And I have seen the birds and animals that are dying due to the polution of our atmosphere.
