Steve Perry

Steve Perry was the frontman of the band Journey until leaving the group in 1998. He’s known for the song “Don’t Stop Believin’” and his 1984 solo hit “Oh Sherrie,” a tribute to then-girlfriend Sherrie Swafford. He reunited with Journey in April 2017 at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction, but did not sing with his former bandmates. Perry was born on January 22, 1949 to Portuguese parents. He was raised in Lemoore, CA and worked on his stepfather’s turkey ranch before striking it big as a rockstar. He lost his girlfriend, Kellie Nash, to breast cancer in December 2012. The following year, Perry had a cancer scare of his own when he had a mole removed from his face.
