Cameron Coos: "We're the Popular Kids!"

Click to return to TMZ.comCameron Diaz says that all the world's like high school -- and that celebs are the "popular kids" that everyone is just dying to know about. Good to know that Cam doesn't have a shrek of humility.

On the "Today" show this morning, Meredith Vieira just had to go there, asking Diaz what it was like to be on the same red carpet for the "Shrek the Third" premiere -- and share a kiss (on the cheek) with ex-beau and co-star Justin Timberlake. "We're friends, so we're OK," said Diaz. "All you want is that the person you care about to be happy ... It's like high school. We're like the popular kids. Everybody wants to know what happens to us."

...Until you reveal yourself to be just a little bit full of yourself.

62. i saw this on the news and wondered why i was surprised at her stupidity and ego. she is in her 30's still comparing her life to high school. come on woman, grow a brain! she is setting the wrong example for young girls. sure, she may have a lot of monetary success and fame, but she is not a great role model.

68. WOW! There are some real mean people out there. Look~if it makes you feel better to put down successful people to make yourselves feel better about your lives then have at it. Cameron is just a person...no more, no less. I am no celebrity because I don't have any skill talented enough to be a celebrity~ but I do know this; I would hate to have every word I say to be scrutinized and dissected by everyone, I would hate to have my motives questioned and my every action talked about. Let's be fair here...these celebrity sites foster the whole idea by publishing every sneeze. So when any celebrity comments about anything they're fair game to be attacked.
If I were Cameron Diaz it would make me really sad if I read some of the comments that are posted here.
She is older...so what? Everyone gets older if they live long enough. She isn't married and has no kids...so what? Did any of you haters ever stop to think that maybe that is a personal choice of hers? And since when is it mandatory for happiness to be married and have children anyway? She's ugly and has a wide mouth...that's subjective to opinion. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and some people feel she's beautiful. Who cares? Does anyone really know the content of her charecter? She is talented or she couldn't command the salary she receives.
Geeze people! Grow up!

71. It's funny how easy it is to manipulate lemmings into parroting a particular point of view.

Newsflash: Cameron didn't say anything that wasn't true. Last time I checked every entertainment magazine in the country was reporting on Kate and Tom, Angelina and Brad, how can any of you with a straight face say celebs aren't the "popular kids" and everyone wants to know what they're doing??

I guess so long as no one says it aloud it's okay...

75. there is truth to what she said; for some reason people make a big deal about the personal lives of celebrities. maybe she should have watched what she said, knowing that people would react negatively but basically what she said isnt far from the truth at all.
