Cruise Puts Crazy on Hold for Cancer Victim

The manic antics surrounding Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes were suddenly subdued when the mother of a two-year-old cancer victim ambushed them for support outside their New York hotel.

Tom was anything but glib while listening to the woman's story.

62. Watch who you sleep with too....Viruses can cause cancer too. Not to mention the colds and crap they catch at school. Look up your sons and daughters, or consider home schooling at least. And Pesticide companies ----you know where you can go, since you insist on dragging the rest of us down there with you.

63. It's possible that the charity is real but that the woman herself was a plant to try to make Tom look sympathetic.

Just because there is a real child with cancer does not mean this isn't a fraudulent ploy. Tom has done so many dishonest things, I have no trust in him anymore. One way to make this scenario look authentic is to have a real website, and make sure that the TMZ viewers can hear the audio so they can look it up for themselves. When they do so, they assume everything is on the up-and-up.

64. May have been a plant BUT it's not a lie and as a Mom I know that I would do whatever I had to do to bring attention to my child if I needed help. I went to the site, GraceO'gorman.com and this isn't just a story. Grace is a little girl in need of some serious help and I hope that with this attention she will get it. WE HAVE ALL contributed to Tom's wealth so maybe he will spare a few bucks and help this baby get the treatment she needs and deserves.

65. Good I hope you're scared. I wasn't either until they killed my little boy in the hospital when he was 5 yrs old, because they refused to help him with his aggressive cancer. Check Rate Md's. Oh did I forget to mention a decent doctor and a lack of mistakes in on hospitals part might help too. Thanks for your support, I think I'll go cry my eyes out of a little while. Yeah, aspartane is really bad for you numbnuts.

66. I am NOT a Tom fan, but this is not a plant. The woman is mom to 2 yr old Gracie from the UK. Gracie has stage 4 Neuroblastoma. As aunt to a 4 year old with the same cancer, I can tell you that these families will go ANYWHERE for help. Most kids with this disease die within 5 years (many in as few as 2 years) The longterm survival rate is around 20%. Very little research is being done for lack of funding. I don't like him, but I would ask Tom and Katie for help in a heartbeat if there was a chance of my nephew beating these odds.

67. Yah, my mother has cancer too....I don't stalk every celebrity I can to pander for donations. And she's not even covered by insurance. Can't people go out to dinner without this kind of morbid crap being thrown in their faces?!?! I think the whack job in this scene is not Tom or even Katie....

68. Yeah the fn chemo route sucks. I miss my little boy. I wish I could have done something, anything to save him. I wish our world wasn't so horriblily tainted. I wish they didn't make so many mistakes at the hospitals. and I wanna know what special treatment Ryan ONeal got to let him live with the same cancer that killed my son. Aren't you glad you have a two tier health education system in the States. They keep trying to do that here. After you've lost a kid to cancer what else is there left to say????

69. Yeah, you're right. I can't watch TV without cancer thrown in my face every 30 seconds either. It takes about that long for the tears to start flowing atter turning on the TV. Yeah, kill the story TMZ it's too painful.

73. Shame on all of you NEGATIVE people! Who cares what Tom Cruise believes, if Katie is a "fembot", or if Tom puts footprints all over Oprah's couch or Matt Lauer's face...you people have obviously never dealt with a child with cancer. It's heartbreaking & as a parent, you will do whatever it takes to find a cure (or even just ease the pain) of your child.
I volunteer for Emmanuel Cancer Foundation in NJ (emmanuelcancer.org) & I pray that my children never have to face that type of illness. Please donate, you're helping these children have a chance at a normal life, even if it's just for a few weeks or months.

75. You are right that there are many causes for cancer. Living is one of them. Cancer is caused when the cells in your body don't listen to the process that tells them it's time to stop reproducing themselves and die. Most cancer is genetic. Sometimes it's hereditary and sometimes it's a mutation. The external causes are very unimportant in the long term. The pesticides and other chemicals in our lifestyles cause more harm simply by being poisonous.
