Pete Wentz's New York City bar, Angels and Kings, has been shut down for a few days for allegedly serving alcohol to minors, Gawker is reporting. The bass player (who moonlights as Ashlee Simpson's baby-daddy/husband) has had some legal trouble in the past -- apparently this is the bar's third violation.

A rep for the bar told us they didn't know anything about the closure -- but the bar's website says it's supposed to be closed yesterday and today for "maintenance issues."

Maintaining what -- a .08 blood alcohol level on underage kids?

A rep for A&K gave us this statement: "There was an outstanding legal issue which the owners are now working to correct."

So there.

1. lol i just think its so funny that it just so happens..that his of alll the bars in NY that are indeed givin drinks to younger kids, which i promise u there are alot in ny lol..his is the one who gets caught and shut down.

6. I absolutely loathe Fall Out Boy and I hate Pete Wentz most of all (if my bassist married Ashlee Simpson, he'd be told to go find another band, basically).

Still, I highly doubt his is the only bar that served booze to underage people. Not saying he doesn't deserve consequences, not after three offenses (once, maybe it was an accident, depending on how far under 21 the person was/looked; twice, not at all likely to be an accident but there's still a very slim chance it was; three times, no chance in hell).

But jeezus, people, calling him a pedo when 1, it was booze and 2, it was the bartender who served it makes no sense.

That having been said, Petey boy, I'd check who you're hiring more carefully.

I frequent this bar on a regular basis and am surprised by them getting shut down because everytime
I am there, they are always carding everyone at the front door. Seems like the NYPD has yet again
demonstrated that they care more about harassing 20 year olds having a drink than catching violent
criminals.

8. Pete isn't the only person who owns the bar there are other people who are celbs who co-own it with him so not all the responsiblity falls on him to hire good staff

9. Oh, please. The amount of times in high school I heard all the 16-year-olds talking about going to bars and getting totally wasted.
Besides, I'm pretty positive it wasn't Pete at the door carding people and failing miserably. This isn't anything new. It's a bar. This happens.

10. Pete probably has absolutely nothing to do with the hiring of bartenders/door staff. Yes, he owns the place but that doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the hiring of staff. Same goes with the one in Chicago.
