Giovanni Di Stefano

Giovanni Di Stefano (born 1 July 1955) is an Italian businessman, notable through his involvement in various legal cases. Raised in the United Kingdom, but based in Italy, he has made a reputation claiming to act as lawyer for high-profile notorious defendants worldwide, despite not being legally qualified. He has been referred to as "The Devil's Advocate" He was a business associate of Serbian paramilitary leader Arkan (Željko Ražnatović) and appeared on CNN as part of the defence team in the trial of Saddam Hussein. He has taken a considerable interest in football, and is a music producer. Di Stefano was born in Petrella Tifernina near Campobasso in rural Southern Italy. When his father emigrated to England to work in a shoe factory, Giovanni and his mother followed later to Irchester, Northamptonshire when Giovanni was six years old. He then went on to study at John Lea School in Wellingborough, and later spent one year at Wellingborough Grammar School (which later became Wrenn School).. In his twenties, he claimed to have 'earned a fortune importing videotapes' from Hong Kong. Despite living much of his early life in England, he considered himself an Italian. During this time
