TMZ has learned that Paris Hilton has pleaded not guilty to a charge of driving under the influence in Hollywood on September 7.
The heiress was not present at today's hearing in a Los Angeles County courtroom, but an attorney representing Hilton entered the plea.
TMZ first reported that LAPD officers noticed Paris driving her Mercedes McLaren SLR erratically at 12:31 AM and stopped her. They believed she exhibited signs of intoxication. We're told they administered a field sobriety test, and Paris blew a .08. In California, driving with a .08 blood alcohol level is the minimum level for DUI.
Paris was arrested and taken to the LAPD Hollywood division, where she was booked.
Hilton is due back in court January 23.

Her alcohol level was the bare MINIMUM, so why get excited.
Paris should have refused the test and demanded a blood test instead. By the time they got her to a lab,her alcohol level would have dropped a point.
People are getting all worked up over nothing as usual. First offenders aren't treated harshly,, so Paris Hilton is no exception. They should have let her go in the first place.

I just sat on a jury where the guy had 0.8 BAL, and in Colorado they had to word the charges differently, because so many people were getting out of DUIs, and we were forced to give him a DUI. I don't know about California, but it is almost safer to plead guilty or make a deal and have the charges lowered, because a person seemingly can't get out of a DUI in Colorado anymore. Of course, this guy was an old mountain hippie, not Paris Hilton, so who knows. I hope she gets in trouble though!
And to Dorii, who said she should have been let go, because it was the bare minimum, would you have liked to have been driving around while she was driving with a .08 BAL? That is a pretty high BAL. She is lucky she didn't hit anyone or do worse damage. Drunk driving is drunk driving, even if it is the minimum allowed by law. Think about it.

My suggestion to Ms. Hilton is to carry open bottles of Jim Beam in the back seat of her car , keep a gas can filled in the back seat of the car so you don't run out of gas drunk and also as added measure keep a lighted candle next to the open booze and open gas can . Dickhead .
