A rep for Lindsay Lohan issued the following statement to TMZ:
"Lindsay admitted herself to an intensive medical rehabilitation facility on Memorial Day. Because this is a medical matter, it is our hope that the press will appreciate the seriousness of the situation and respect the privacy of Lindsay as well as the other patients receiving treatment at the facility."

93. What's all this 30 day "miracle" rehab crap? Turning a self-destructive, self-indulgent, and addictive lifestyle around takes YEARS to combat, not 30 days, - GET REAL. She, and her "handlers, are just trying to "appease" the public (and producers) by playing the very old game of "damage control", - salvaging an "image". Hopefully, since the courts will take her post-arrest behavior into account when assessing her lifestyle, social danger to others, and "actual" intent to rehabilitate, she'll be placed into a REAL rehab
center for longer than a "dry-out" where all follow-up is verified with drug and alcohol testing with jail time as the answer to ANY more of her BS. Who does she have to mangle or kill, - a fan, or just a relative of one?
This "Promises" place doesn't have a very good track-record with the "rich and famous". Maybe that's why the name.

95. i'm starting a telethon right now for poor dina lohan. how will she ever afford to get her roots done with her paycheck in rehab. any bets on how soon Dina auditions - um, i mean provides a heartfelt, tear-laden iinspirational nterview - with barbara walters. with parents like these, no wonder lindsay's so effed up.

96. I love how people are so quick to bash... sometimes people develop major issues that nobody else can judge! I too have a friend who is out all the time doing cocaine and drinking, and its sad because I dont know what to do about it. She quits alot, then goes back to it because shes addicted. Living in the hollywood scene has got to be hard, because im sure its easily available. Dont be so quick to judge people, cocaine is THE most addictive drug out there next to heroin. And every 20 year old girl (almost) goes out and drinks. Its the drugs issue that needs to be addressed!

100. it's about time she appreciates the seriousness of the situation like her statement said. she showed what being arrested meant--Nothing. unless she takes this rehab serious, i'm afraid this is just the beginning of a downward spiral, that will not end without some serious consequences. i wish her the best, but i don't think that will be enough

102. She's not an addict, she's a spoiled rich kid. Rehab is nothing more than a desperate attempt to put off the inevitable-Charges. Court. Jail time. and THAT'S what she needs. Serious punishment for putting everyone else on the road that night, and other nights. I've been saying for years Lindsay will be dead before 25. She's headed there fast with no help from the people who claim to love her. Shame.

Please give me a break, Promises is not making any promises, their rate of success is dismal at best, it is a Country club that caters to the stars and the rich and famous, thsy place alot of band aids on the symptms, offer all the touch feeley, the psych babble and possibly throw in some drugs to help yu get off the drugs-a waste of time and money for most.
Treatment centers are for treatment of your disese of addiction, addictions are self supporting, feed on themselves, keep telling you need more, more of the substances that are killing you and you wind up with nothing in the end-until treatment facilities get that message they will be useless.
Last but not least please do not fall for the lie from thse so called professionals that know little or nothing about yoyr disease except what they read in a book or heard at the one AA meeting they attended, don't fall for the lies that psychotic drugs can help you or that tranqulilizers will help wen you off drugs-all your doing is substituting one for another.
get to the root causes of your disease, stop treating the symptoms, get to the root and you'll get better, sober, drug free and have HOPE-FREEDOM, get that monkey off your back

I'm afraid that this girl - and that's what she is, a little girl, even though she tries to act like an adult -has NO chance at lasting sobriety unless she spends a good 6 months to a year in a residential treatment program...maybe no letters or phone calls from ANYONE for at least 30 days so she can get her head where her feet "are at " - and NO WORK AT ALL...NONE....and intensive counselling, for her individually, and for the family as a group- oh yeah ....diving into aa and na meetings...at least one a day for an entire year- and if she's unwilling to make this commitment to her own LIFE, she will loose everything material she has , and will most likely end up like Belushi...and anyone familiar with recovery for someone so relatively young knows this is true....good luck to her...she's gonna need it!
