she didn't redeem anything..... even a monkey could memorize a few lines as a stock answer to a known question. She is a moron, and a perfect example and proof of WHY one fifth of americans can't find the usa on a map.

It's impossible to judge a TEENAGER'S intelligence from a 30-second clip on live, national TV. Statistically, public speaking is the number one phobia of Americans. Imagine yourself being before a live audience and answering a question. Throw in a camera and a live, national television audience and it would scare the daylights out of MOST people, much less an inexperienced TEENAGER. I guess it's easier for people to criticize than to praise.

A lot of Americans don't have maps.... we need help..... come on! Get with it!!!! What kind of a stupid answer is that??? Everyone knows that the answer is because one fifth of those Americans polled have a GPS system in their car. They don't need maps! Please...... Miss South Carolina's answer is the second right answer. However, you should have thought of the right answer. This is why a lot of people are thinking you are having a blonde moment.....

Dr. Dave, blondetoo, and dollpartz...have you EVER been on live television? I'm a seasoned public relations pro with 2 college degrees, and it's always unsettling to answer questions on live television. News anchors tell me the same thing, that being on live television is unnerving.

"Didn't hear or understand the question" my butt. She just doesn't understand the English language. They should have asked the question using picture books with clues and prompts. The enormous ditz.

This girl has probably gone through years of coaching to help her get to this point. She couldn't come up with a coherent sentence during the most important moment of her career thus far. She stated that she was in shock and didn't hear the question. She repeated the fated question in her blunder of an answer. Even after seeing her attempting to redeem herself on NBC, she still sounded like a poorly trained monkey. I bet all of the smart people that she terrorized and made fun of in highschool are laughing their butts off.
