Tom Hanks: You've Got MySpace!

Isn't Tom Hanks a little too old to be on MySpace?

Yes, Forrest Gump himself has a MySpace page -- and he's even posting video blogs on it. The first was just to introduce himself, and the latest shows him driving around in his electric car. Among Hanks' top friends are Leonardo DiCaprio and Lance Bass. Hanks, a n*NYSNC fan -- who knew?

In the About Me section of his page, Hanks writes, "I'm that actor in some of the movies you liked and some you didn't." Apparently, he saw "The Terminal."

16. TMZ is so inaccurate so often and has opinions that are so simple-minded it is telling of the caliber of people who work for TMZ. MOST MySpace users are over 35. Teens account for around 12% of the audience. Almost 41% of MySpacers are aged 35 to 54. Also, Tom Hanks has been in some epic movies and STILL is down-to-earth enough to state that he knows he's been in some bad ones, but TMZ still blasts him. What the heck?! And he is 51. That’s not old. He’s just a good guy, seemingly good husband and TMZ is just ick. Ick.

17. TMZ....can you please like raise the budget on your Entertainment Show.....it reminds me of Maximum Exposure for those who know what that show is......the narrator is just such a generic voice and it looks like it was edited in a high school A.V. room.....i love the site but your show is being demolished by well put together entertainment shows like E! Daily 10, Access, ET and a plethora of others.

18. Colin Hanks is an awful actor who needed to ride the coat tails of his famous father in order to get his foot in the door ('Orange County'), which ultimately DIDN'T WORK. He's been a failure as an actor ever since. So, hey, I know...... why don't you PIMP your son on your MySpace, Mr. Balding and see if you can get him a job as a ticket taker at a local theatre. Hey, at least he'll be "in the movies". :-P~@ HA!

Same goes for Jason Ritter. [suck on it]

20. "Is there an age limit on Myspace? Or is TMZ just unable to rein in their young uns from age discriminatory statements?"

The latter. Believe it or not, there are people in the world who are over the age of 30. And some of them do have myspaces. And that doesn't mean they are pedophiles. People really need to get over themselves.

24. Very cool, Tom. Now if only Silicon Valley will work on shrinking battery components (a.k.a. the chip) so that the car can drive across country for five or six hundred miles at a crack, they might really have something other than short errand trip capability - but that's a great start. Hotels could charge $6.00 per charge and put it on your room service bill upon checkout when travelling. I'm sure tired of supporting an ever increasing oil infrastructure, (and everything that accompanies that) as I'm sure everyone else is. This won't see a dedicated corporate effort until supplies actually dry up, as efforts will probably be stymied or taxed to maintain the status quo. People will have to finance their own custom conversion like Hanks has, so that might limit conversions for a bit. I'm going to look into doing this.

25. Tom Hanks is brilliant and one of the most talented actors in Hollywood today. I loved him in "Big", "When Harry Met Sally" and "Forrest Gump."

I have not been to a movie in approx. 2 1/2 years as there hasn't been any worthwhile seeing imo. Hopefully Tom will have another movie soon, maybe for the holidays.

MySpace has no age limit and many senior citizens have pages there and they happen to rock! You'd be very surprised.

Does Harvey Levin have a MySpace page yet?

26. A lot of people in show business use MySpace for free advertising, networking and an avenue for their fans to be in contact in a more controlled and safe environment. I have a page for that.

27. Oops, sorry Tom...I meant to say I loved "Sleepless in Seattle."

Tom Hanks WAS NOT in "When Harry Met Sally." That starred Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal and was also a good movie.
