One way to always get that right is this: if one can read the word "its" as "it is" then the correct spelling is "it's".
An example: "It's going to be a long day!".
If not, as in "The camera is in its case.", no apostrophe should be used.

Monegan has said he was fired in July after refusing pressure to sack Wooten, who had gone through an acrimonious divorce and custody battle with Palin's sister.
