This is a tragic, sad story.
The events just don't sound right.
I don't understand why they are asking for donations.

usually people set up funds when the family needs help with funeral expenses or is needy. not when it is public that at least one family member is in need. so i would hope that any money would go to a charity the deceased was close too. b/c they don't really seem to needy.

My condolences to the family and all but umm ..itts pretty well known the brother was a druggie and if its true he was playing russian roullette..i cant say i feel much sympathy. He didnt have any bio children...funds should go to needy families that cant even pay for their sick kids funerals.

It's not a charity donation request.
It's a request for money which seems very odd to me -
and YES, I have been to many funerals and NO, people do not usually set up funds
unless there is real need for the immediate family members, meaning children.

What? The guys brother dies and first time you hear from that is a thank you to the public and now here is where to make a deposit? Wau!
I mean, you would think financially a well to do actor will reach out to his brothers family?! It is not like their is a specific cause he is asking donations for. And even that would be ill-timed. He was a hairdresser, not someone known for a specific cause or a face for anything. How absurd!
And he leaves behind a wife? What business did he then have with the young woman who ended up killing him? The whole thing is not kosher.
A donation would be appropriate for the family of a crime victim that has no funds available to them, but this? Why is he asking for MONEY? How strange that is. Very inappropriate. You'd think an actor would be more image oriented than greedy. I am not rich per se, but if something like that happened to my sister, I would step in and OBVIOUSLY help out with my income. You include the public when you have nothing, not so you wouldn't have to bother. Wrong, wrong, wrong.

Big Joe - save your money.
Or give it to The Salvation Army.
His brother seemed to have enough money for cocaine.
Buy a toy for a kid that has nothing for Christmas instead.

it is really strange that with all the family problems (cocaine , russian roulette) they would ask for any money.
The only thing i think everyone can agree on is that they shouldn't be asking for money, they should ask for people to send they're prays yes, donations no.

The donation is for a memorial fund for Scott - the family will use the donated money to honor the memory of Scott in some special way.

wtf:  1160 days ago

I agree WTF is this family fund for? The proper thing is to ask for donations to a charity, not a request for funds to be given to the family.
