Children's Org to Madonna: Leave the Kids Alone!

1. Ok, I understand, but why is Madonna the problem and Angelina Jolie not? I mean they're doing the same thing right?

3. I don't get this. Angelina Jolie has adopted many times as an unmarrried woman, although not from Malawi. As for Save the Children , maybe the ease with which Madonna can use money and influence to speed up the process is a good thing and will bring more attention to the criminal adoption issue (porbably child sex-slaves). Clearly whatever laws (and enforcement) Malawi has in place now regarding adoptions are not effective if criminal "adoptions" are such a significant issue.

5. No longer newsworthy? She still makes music, and is still good enough for Britney to completely copy her...so yeah.

She has more talent in her big toe than most musicians will ever have.

And #2, you are completely right, people just love to hate on Madonna. Oooo she has veiny arms, wow! At least she is going to the gym and working hard to be fit, how is that something to make fun of?

7. blk-wido--great point. One possible reason is drugs. I recently was on a mission trip in Brazil, and the problem of grandparents raising the children is as comman there as it is in the US and the reason is the mother or parents are on drugs. This causes many well-documented problems in raising the children. Possibly in Malawi, Vietman and wherever else is popular to adopt drugs have less of an influence. Just a possibility.

8. I think Madonna has achieved a lot for herself in her life, but i don't think her life is exactly a stable envirnonment to be adopting more children, what's up with the boy toy being around her kids he's young enought to be her daughters boyfriend, Maybe she should get her life in order before she brings any more kids to her life, there are a lot more stable families out there who can offer just as good a life if not better without stange men coming in and out of their lives. Kids are not a hobby.

Good point. One possible reason for adopting in other countries could be drugs. I recently went on a mission trip to Brazil and the problem of grandparents raising children of drug-addicted mothers is as common as it here in the US. Since drug abuse during pregnancy has many well-documented effects on the baby, these children often have special needs. Maybe in Vietnam, Malawi (and wherever else is popluar for adoptions) drug abuse is not as pervasive. Just a possibility

10. I have to agree, arent there plenty of kids right here in the US that need a good home? Maybe Madonna is controverisal, but I guarantee she can provide enough of what any child would need, for the rest of their life.

Madonna has a lot of power and has obviously made quite a life for herself, i don't think one should discriminate that she t is a single mother now, but i do think she shouldn't adopt so soon since she's already parading a new guy around the kids and one young enough to be her daughters boyfriend, that's not exactly the right environment or a stable environment for a new child seeing as he's just come into her life and when she's done with her toyboy it will be someone else since she obviously can't be without a man by her side, it would be different if she didn't have her new guys tagging around with her and the children going to kaballah clasees etc, maybe she should wait till she has somewhat of a stable life or just not have the men around the kids so soon, she just seems a bit all over the place right now, i doubt the toyboy is in it for the longhaul either, she just seems like she's using guy's to help her cope with her breakup and maybe the new kid too.

13. Madonna will be 70 when the kid graduates highschool. I can't believe someone wakes up at age 50 and sayd, " I want to adopt kids from africa".... If she wants to make a better statement and stand out better than weird angelia jolie, than help out the hundreds of thousands of starving kids in the USA!! When is someone gonna support our kids here???

14. she may not be the best role model but there are plenty of kids in the system that if they aren't adopt they will become most likely the scum of the earth with 1% probably becoming doctors.....there are plenty of kids in the us that need mommy with plenty of money
