Constance Craving

The 61-year-old resurfaced at some event in L.A. last week, looking unburdened.

Constance Cashin

In 1987, Constance's character died of a brain tumor on the show's 200th episode.

McCashin would not allow footage of her character to be used in two reunion specials, which forced producers to blur her image.

1. She looks great. Wondering why she wouldn't allow footage of her character in the reunion eppy though, that's kinda weird.

2. She does look great! And it's great to see her.

I believe that the reason she gave for not wanting her footage & clips used was that by that time, she had quit acting altogether and became a psychologist or some type of mental therapist. She didn't want her patients seeing her in that role and confusing her with her new real life job or something like that. At least I think that's what I read at the time.

I know I was disappointed that she & Laura her tv alter-ego weren't in the reunion shows.

I loved Laura and cried so much when she died, leaving behind videos for her baby daughter and husband Greg Sumner played by the equally great William Devane. It was so sad and I hated it when both she and "Laura" left the show because it was a huge blow to the show to lose them both.

I loved Knots and still miss it.

4. Let's just hope that her patients do not see this photo and confuse their therapist with a 2-dimensional rendering.

5. Wow Kathy, you got a great memory, I loved to watch Knots back in the day but I forgot all about this character. Actually I forgot most of the whole show. They should do re-runs or somthing. Love William Devane.

6. Indeed, I loved Knots Landing, was a big fan, wasn't it on on Thursday night? For some reason, that's the night I keep thinking it was on. I loved all those women, even the evil ones, LOL. I too cried my eyes out when she died. Of course Gary and Valene were my favorite couple but I loved the neighbors too, played by Kevin Dobson and oh what's her name, I can see her face as clear as day....Karen.....Michelle.....that's her real name Michelle Phillips was it? Than the other Michelle came along....oh hell wait, I gotta just go google the cast now. Hold one. LOL Damnit I thought I had it backwards, I knew Karen was the black haired neighbor......Michelle Lee and Michelle Phillips was the Mamma Pappa singer that came into the show on down the line. I loved Ciji, Lisa Hartman (Mrs. Clint Black these days). And for gosh sakes who remembered Halle Berry being in the show, not me or even Alec Baldwin, not me again. And of course Nicollette Sheridan, I really think that's her most famous tv part, until Desparate Housewives. As for reruns of it....I'm suprised the Soap TV Network doesn't run it. Ah memories....

8. CBS's shockingly callous and unfathomable decision to fire the superb, beautiful Contance McCashin, and the shabby way they went about it is one of the all time slimy weasely moves by any show, ever. I don't even remember what lame public excuse they gave, if any, but certainly recall stories of her being totally blindsided by the producers when given the script leading to her incredibly suddern death. In comparison to her always sensitive, nuanced performances it seems if budget cuts were needed they were of any number of lesser talented overblown scerery-chewing hams who wouldn't hsve been missed nearly as much. Her on-screen death and aftermath certainly garnered great drama, but the abruptness and obvious blindsiding of the actress of herself left a bad taste in the mouths of all her fans tht lingers to this day. The grace and dignity with which she handled herself only reaffirmed the fact that she is one truly classy lady. The fact that she retains her beauty reaffirms my belief in karma. Looking good is always the best revenge!

15. she was a type of therapist to mentally handicpped kids and did not want her patients to see her on TV and be confused.
