So they both have bad teeth - so what? Denis Leary's show is a joke. He is one of the writer's so he always portrays his character as irresistable to women; i.e. all the women run after him. He is decidedly unattractive with the ugliest mouth I have ever seen (both figuratively & literally). I've had friends & family members who are/were fire fighters & they are good family men nothing like the "trailer trash" characters portrayed in his show.
