Charlie Sheen

Bombed in Detroit

4/3/2011 10:50 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Charlie Sheen got heavily booed and people walked out of his show in Detroit tonight.

0331_charlie_sheen_EX_TMZ_01
According to multiple people inside the Fox Theatre ... the majority of the audience heckled not only Charlie, but his buddy Simon Rex, who came out and started rapping.

We're told Charlie started the show with a Q&A session -- answering audience questions about everything from fave porn stars to crack cocaine (see the crack joke here). Then Charlie played clips from a network interview he did and ripped it apart.

At one point, Sheen tried to deflect the angry crowd by pointing out that he had his own app ... and they didn't (see video above).

That went on for about 30 minutes ... and the crowd was initially cheering for Charlie. He even sent out a twitpic of the enthusiastic audience.

But then the crowd got ugly.

We're told Charlie called on Simon Rex for backup ... sending him on stage to rap -- and when that backfired they played the new track, "Winning" ... which Snoop Dogg recorded for Charlie.

We're told that got the crowd fired up ... but when neither Snoop nor Charlie came out on stage they started booing again.

At that point most of the crowd started walking out -- and the house lights were turned on.

We're told Charlie did come back on stage briefly and invited the people who stayed to move up closer to the stage ... but then he started complaining about his audio and walked off the stage.

@ksis I assure you my blood pressure is fine, I just wondering why your such a delusional loser who supports Charlie to the point of borderline insanity. He's a mediocre actor at best a terrible human being, and I just wonder why you defend him like your his PR person and it's your job.

ksis - Don't you get it yet? Charlie is now "a rebel without a cause" He wanted what - respect for his actions that are contrary to the norm? Well sorry - I don't respect him - but I do give him the right to do whatever he wants that is not illegal - Do I admire him - No - but I don't deny him the right to become whatever he choses -
I understand his shock when his "acting out" caused him to be fired and the subsequent nonsensical "rantings" - but that's old news now - If he really wants to create a new career for himself he will have to harness himself to a more professional team and actually perform for his audience to value his work.

The fact that his cause, is not a good enough cause for you, doesn't mean that doesn't have a right to have it.
That is the problem with many. He went against the NORM. Well good for him, because all those people are in deep denial if they claim they never once wanted to be gutsy enough to go against them themselves. He was so now he is hated. Well, like he cares. LOL
As for career. Who said that this show was supposed to be his new career? He was recently fired and he saw a way to kill two birds with one stone: interact with his fans and earn some money. Bad bad Charlie.
LOL

Obama and Charlie have the same problem...once the team of writers is gone or they go off script you see the lack of substance and intellect.

i think everyone that has commented on this -like they know what they r talking about- is an idiot. i was actually there last night. it was horrible.

sheen had announced on the radio that morning that snoop was also going to appear at the show. everyone sat through that broke comedian as well as sheens self indulgent 20 min presidential-style rant cuz we were expecting the show to have some kind of flow to it. tell a story about coke or pornstars. drop some new sheen-isms on us...DO SOMETHING. ANYTHING PLEASE

what we actually got was a collection of youtube videos...that everyone has already seen a million times.

when ppl finally realized this was all the effort sheen bothered to put into the show the crowd got rowdy. it was NOT just a few ppl. EVERYONE was boo-ing. he went from receiving a standing ovation in the beginning to being horribly boo-ed off stage in 30 mins.

if you have tickets i suggest you craigslist them asap

...and NO snoop did not show up

You see...That's not accepting disgareement. You keep insulting me for no reason. It doesn't bother me really, but I am just trying to show you that there is no reason for that. I can like him, appreciate him and support him. Period. You can hate him. Period.
Trust me, as long as no one is getting personal with me, I am perfectly capable of keeping every conversation civil. Too bad not everyone can. That's all;)

@ksis how is that NOT accepting? I accept that you like him, I just want to know why you defend him like you know him personally? Has Mr. Sheen given you money? Have you ever met him? It's one thing to like a star but to sit here and defend him like someone is dissing your best friend is nuts. Also you are the BIGGEST hypocrite on here because you've been attacking anyone who doesn't share your views, so you didn't use any insults- you're still feel the need to respond to everyone who tells you Charlie Sheen is a wacky job who needs to take his meds. If you like him that's fine just don't be so freaking delusional about it. One would think if your such a fan you'd want him to get help. Waving a machete on top of a building and killing dogs isn't exactly what I'd call mentally stable, but to each is own. Peace.

Charlie's opening act, Kirk Fox, is actually quite funny.

It almost makes me wonder if he bombed on purpose.

What kind of people would actually pay to see this mess and why don't they have anything better to do with their time? Did they think he would actually be good for a laugh or two? There is nothing amusing about this man publicly self-destructing. I can't believe people would waste $80 per ticket to see something like this in the current economy.

Nah. That seems to be the idea you get from reading certain people here. I have never thrown any personal insults at anyone who has not attacked me first, and even THEN I was not half as bad as some around here. You really wanna join that crowd or actaully hear (read) my answer to your question, because I'd be happy to give it to you. Let me know.

I understand some people bought tickets just to see him and probably expected nothing and don't care that he sucked but those of you that paid expecting to be entertained should be pissed. You should be pissed that this multi millionaire took advantage of you and took your hard earned money and then mocked you for spending it on a ticket to see him. For the life of me, I do not understand why people keep enabling these type of celebrities to just get richer and richer off of your backs. How many of us make millions a week and then publicly insult our bosses and would not expect to be fired, how many of us can admit to doing scores of drugs and not get arrested, how many of us have an ex that would allow us to have porn stars and drug addicts living in our home and then allow our children to visit? Charlie Sheen is a human being, he is not special, he is not a hero, he is a person being paid tons of money to read a script. I bet there were more REAL heros in that audience last night that are much more deserving of the money he made off the backs of hard working people.
