Marc Anthony

Turns Two U.S. Marines

into Vegas ROCKSTARS

11/12/2011 9:30 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Marc Anthony
So there he was, partying in Vegas ... when Marc Anthony noticed two U.S. marines hanging out at the Venetian ... and decided he was going to show his appreciation, by treating them to most kick-ass night EVER.

TMZ has confirmed ... Anthony approached the two marines and personally invited them to hang with him at Tao nightclub Thursday night -- hours before Veteran's Day.

We're told Anthony treated the guys like rock stars -- ordering bottles of expensive booze at a private V.I.P. table and making sure everyone knew they were the guests of honor that night.

Marc Anthony marines vipSources close to Marc tell us the singer was more than happy to treat the marines as a thank you for their service to our country.

That was very nice of him to do that.

And just like any good Marine would do, they took what was available and enjoyed the moment...all the while calling him a scrawny-pencil neck-geek one moment, and asking if Jlo swallows and claws the pillows the next.

This was a Very Kind Effort put forth by Mr. Anthony! There should be more of kind gestures, not as flung as this, but even just saying Hello, shaking a hand, and just thanking a Soldier or Veteran for what they have done so unselfishly for our Country.

Anytime anything negative is posted, hundreds of people comment. This is a wonderful post about a great thing somebody did...and so far there are 9 comments. Most of them are just plain ****ty or are trying to sell something. This has become a country full of ******** and nobody seems to notice......or care.

That was really nice of him. It's too bad that he would rather hang out at the Venetian, then be home with his kids. Just doesn't want to grow up. He really doesn't look very healthy either. Sort of skeletal looking. But at least he gave the marines the royal treatment.

Wouldn't it be a hoot if they were just two guys dressed up as Marines? People do all kinds of crazy things in Vegas.

"Thursday night -- hours before Veteran's Day." Its called The Marine Corps Birthday. The Marine Corps was founded November 10, 1776, in Tun Tavern, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Thursday was our 237th Birthday!

Ooh Rah!

Sure . . that was a nice thing to do. But, if you check Marine protocol, they are restricted from attending any public event that would compromise the dignity of the uniform . . .pretty sure partying like rock stars would fit that bill . . .
