Whitney Houston

L.A. Coroner Hunting Down

Prescription Records

2/15/2012 9:41 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

The L.A. County Coroner wants to get to the bottom of Whitney Houston's medical and pharmaceutical history -- obtaining subpoenas to get the singer's medical and drug records from her doctors.

According to Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter, it's not out of the ordinary to request such records.

As TMZ reported, there were a half-dozen Rx bottles in the hotel room where Whitney died, including prescriptions for Xanax, Amoxicillin and ibuprofen.  There was also a bottle of Midol, but nothing excessive or unusual.

In other news, Office suppily stores all around LA are buying paper shreaders in record numbers while other offices are "spontaneously combusting" along with "precious patient information"

Here's a little secret about RX abusers: they combine all their pills into the least "I'm an obvious addict" bottle. I'm sure what was in her system was much more elaborate than the RX bottles found.

of course, as a woman her death must be the fault of someone else - a man, any man.

the junkie was a junkie died like a junkie dies. nobody's fault but her own.

Blame it on the doctors, worked for Michael Jackson's family, why not here?

King of TMZ

They cant blame the doctors if she was drinking medicine with Alcohol & if the meds are valid for something she had. MJ was treated by a doctor with a drug that this doctor wasn't trained to handle & that is not used for sleeping... thats why he was held accountable for MJ's death.

All of the doctors, and all of the pharmacies should be investigated and charged where wrongdoing is found. Only then will all the "stars" figure out their lives are at risk when they "shop" multiple doctors and pharmacies.

Wonder how much cocaine was flushed down the toilet before they called for help.

That's right, blame everyone except the drug addict! Whitney died because Whitney chose to drink and abuse scripts.

Here we go again. She was a crack / drug addict by her own choice. If anyone is to blame it was her and her family second.

I saw an interesting interview from Jennifer Holliday on Pierce Morgan, where she surprisingly revealed that Whitney was into drugs before she ever met Bobby Brown. That being said, I think it's not very cool to be branding this guy as the reason for her downfall. She'd been divorced from him for more than 5 years. He wasn't even with her the last five years, so whatever happened here, it wasn't his doing. She was a big girl, as she told everyone around her. For all we know, she was clean when she died. Young kids on the basketball court have heart attacks and die, so a 48 year old, can happen. I've been prescribed Xanax. Everyone has been. Whether you need it for flights...who knows why she had it. But she didn't have anything out of the ordinary, as even Harvey can attest to. Amoxicillin, we all have been prescribed that after going to the dentist. Midol, that's a woman thing that you can get over the counter, and Ibuprofren...that's Advil folks. It's in your cabinet right now. I think she truly may have just had a heart attack. It may have been caused by past drug abuse, but the jury is still out on this one. The bottom line is, she's gone. It sucks. She was great. I'll miss her.
