Celebrity Feuds
Oxy-Moron Limbaugh and Fox Ignite Stem Debate

Pill-popping conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh blasted Michael J. Fox recently for a political ad in which Fox supports stem-cell research. And now, right-wing cronies, celebrities, and even Jesus are taking sides against Fox and his position.

In Fox's ad, supporting Missouri Senate candidate Claire McCaskill (and other pro-stem-cell candidates), he sways and jerks uncontrollably, visible symptoms of his Parkinson's Disease. Limbaugh criticized Fox's spot as "purely an act," a remark for which he received a swift and vociferous backlash. (Limbaugh subsequently apologized.)

But today, on "Good Morning America," fellow right-wing lip-flapper Sean Hannity came to Limbaugh's defense, saying that Fox had a right to be criticized. (The National Parkinson's Foundation, in a statement issued to TMZ, explains that Fox's symptoms are actually the result of taking medication and that not taking meds would result in stiffness.)

And, in an ad airing during tonight's Game 4 of baseball's World Series, "Everybody Loves Raymond's" Patricia Heaton, Jim Caviezel (who played Jesus Christ in "The Passion of the Christ" and applies some Aramaic to his message here), and several pro athletes urge viewers to vote against Missouri's Amendment Two, which would provide constitutional protections against embryonic stem cell research.

166. Rush has turned into pure jackass. I began listening to him when he first came on and thought him relativley funny and tongue in cheek. He has since grown to take himself way too seriously. To the point now that he has reached clown status. As is true with anyone who proclaims his righteousness too loudly, he has become untrustworthy, along with all the other evangelicals and holier than thous. Barry Goldwater once said the right wing evangelicals scared him to death. This from a man whose words, taken in todays context, would be embraced by common sense thinking people on both the left and right. Rush will fade away into nothingness. His words, meaningless background chatter for anyone with half a brain tied behind their backs.

167. Again, considering the shape this country is in right now is this the best Republicans can do with their president and a majority in both houses of congress? Please just answer that simple question with yes or no?

168. Hands down this guy's a total moron. You Repugs remember the clock is ticking. George will be out on his ass along with his cronies. Bye-bye George!!! We will not miss you or your misguided war. We will not miss your repeated attempts to get into our bedrooms. We will not miss your attempts to shove "YOUR" religion down our throats. We want stem cell research and so do many many republicans (Ronald Regan anynone??). The days of the uber conservative is over thank God! Back to the good old days and "real" republicans. I can't wait.

BYE-BYE GEORGE, WE WANT AMERICA TO BE STRONG AND YOU'VE DONE NOTHING BUT MAKE US WEAKER. YOU'VE MADE US A HUGE TARGET FOR A WHOLE NEW GENERATION OF TERRORISTS. YOU%u2019VE COMPLETELY DESTROYED OUR ECONOMY THAT WAS STRONG WHEN YOU GOT INTO OFFICE. YOUR KILLING OUR CHILDREN FOR A WAR YOU MADE UP.

169. It is amazing how many people still think that we can be categorized by democrat, republican, or liberal; insinuating that we all think alike. NOT TRUE. None of us posting are MORONS, I am sick of seeing that word being thrown around. I believe if you have read each posting here, as I have, you'll find we are all being called morons regardless of where we stand on the issue, or what party we back. Being for stem cell research does not make you a democrat that hates GWB, or vice versa. That is like saying send blacks back to Africa. COme on people, I thought we had advanced past all this childishness.

170. M. Fox is a joke, a liar, and trying to sell a bill of goods that is so full of holes, you better not buy it. All that he said is a lie based on science tific facts, not on emotion. Ofter people weigh in on this without having the facts. I called them do. do's. Most of you would call them stupid or idiots, and you would be correct on both tems.

101. Wait...wait...wait...I am neither for or against what Michael is saying. All I want to know is if he would have never gotten Parkinsons, would he still be pushing as hard as he is? Easy to go to bat for something once you have it. Oh poor me...I didn't care about this until I got it and now help me save myself? Give me a break

Nice comment...never had a cause, any cause...don't support anyone or anything..because it doesn't involve you. You sound pretty self centered....no humanity in that comment..hopefully your family is healthy..so you won't need to go to bat for anything..... Because it's not about you...

Michael's cause...he supports stem cell, he believes in it

How do you decide who to vote for, don't you support your candidate because of his cause, his beliefs, what he is going to bat for ? Double edged sword sister....

your opinion to disagree, this is my opinion..I am entitled to diagree with you

171. I think everyone is entitled to their opinion, but Rush passed judgement as do alot of people. Which is a bad thing to do. I do not wish ill on people, but they do say what goes around comes around so i think Rush needs to think about that before he opens his mouth again.

172. Ya know,
It is Important not to become obsessed with what you hate. You then become that. Rush was dead wrong in his meager attempt to spark humor while making his point. Don't get me wrong I detest his antic's and his quest to be entertaining. He is indeed a greed driven man with issue's. The hard line Republicans are really showing their true colors. If you want to make a difference VOTE ... get out and Vote against them.... Rush will be there regardless with his antics he has probably already started to research what will work on the show if the Democrates over turn the congress Rush could care less about the Country as long as his RATINGS are high

174. hey speak up, me too. I have long voted Republican but I've had it.
A while back someone asked if this is the best the Rep's can do with
a Rep. Pres. and a majority in both houses. I haven't seen a response
to that question, have you?

176. Taxation of religion is based on fairness and justice. It is a notification to those who represent corporate religion that they are not a special institution or a favored aristocracy. It is telling them they do have an obligation to support society in the form of taxation. Particularly when, as the Christian Coalition is doing, they use the millions of dollars saved from taxes to pump into the campaigns of politicians who agreed to spread their brand of bigotry and superstition.

177. Rush only stated the truth. I have seen many times where Fox was in the public eye and the symptoms that he showed during his political commercial was such a joke and we all know it. He is worth millions and you can bet he has the best doctors around. I wish someone could put a hidden camara in his home and show the world that he did put on one hell of a performance. Rush is far smarter than the average dumbass such as the ones that wrote the above comments. I think it is amazing that all of you can say your comments and opinions but are hypocrits when it comes to anyone else stating what they think. I stand up and congradulate Mr. Limbaugh for being honest and not being afraid to state it.

178. Would SOMEONE remind Mr. Fox that he is from CANADA??

Posted at 8:03AM on Nov 12th 2006 by Tracey

179. I am so tired of hearing liberals saying Bush sent "2800 of our children to die"(In the Iraq war. The war has been going on for nearly three years now.
in that time 45,000 people have been killed in car accidents, 20,000 kids have committed suicide. over 1000 police officers and fire men have been killed.
over 20,000 people have been murdered over 15,000 people have been killed in on the job accidents. So next time you say 2,800 of our soldiers have been killed think of all the others who have been killed on our own soil.
