Anna's Body to Be Held for DNA Testing

A Florida judge has ordered that Anna Nicole Smith's body not be released until a DNA test can be performed, as requested by Anna's potential baby daddy, Larry Birkhead.

This decision echoed a a previous ruling by a Los Angeles judge last week, ordering Florida authorities to keep Smith's body for 10 days. Both Howard K. Stern and Smith's mother, Virgie Arthur, argued the decision, claiming that if the body is not embalmed soon, it will not be suitable for viewing or funeral purposes. Birkhead's camp argued that accurate DNA testing would not be possible if the body were released and moved out of state.

Meanwhile, Anna's mother is pulling out all the legal stops to ensure that Stern does not get custody of 5-month-old Dannielynn. This morning, Arthur petitioned a Bahamian court to name her the legal guardian of her granddaughter, and asked the judge for an order that forbids the baby to leave the country.

17. I'm tired of all of this hoopla surrounding ANS - in life and death. I liked her after watching her reality show, and I always thought she was very attractive, but I'm just sick of all of this so called news that is nothing more than speculation and drawn out tidbits of info.

I hope HKS get the baby legally since he was there for Anna through thick and thin. Unlike her mother who publically dogged Anna the afternoon of her death. And I pray that baby isn't Dickhead's child. He denied the baby being his now he claims it is? Whateva.

18. I so feel sorry for Anna Nicole. Her life and now death are being exploited. Her own family is acting in such a manner that it is disgusting. I'm a Texas girl and I only wish she would have stayed a small-town Texas girl...maybe she would of had a chance. But, she definately had to get away from her WT family....so who knows what would have been more beneficial to her life. It's just really sad!

19. For gods sake can't they just do the DNA test already, what they think if they drag it out long enough they will get out of having to do the test. Why is HKS laying so low? It's time he speaks up and makes his position more clear.
Everyone thinks they are going to get so much money, nothings been determined on that yet. Chances are they don't even get much. The real question is who would take the best care of the baby. Both these men Howard and Larry have to get themselves in a stable situation with a fitting step mom to raise this baby!!!

25. Actually, Natalie, Virgie has been seen crying and the book TRAINWRECK started being written in September 2006. So she is cashing in on ANS's death... so is TMZ, CNN, Trimspa, even the strip clubs... so what??????? Who gives a flying fock??????? I bet you will be the first in line to purchase it.

I so disagree with all that you have written. So she paused..... her sister died not even a week ago. Why would anyone even ask such a stupid question???

Anna's son should be exhumed and brought back to Texas and then buried beside his mother.... the land of their birth.

26. Wow.....how did Anna become such a saint? Manipulative, gold digging, media whore saint. Let's not leave out liar. Her mother said that Anna is from Houston, not such a small town and that she had a middle-class upbringing, not poor. The only people I feel sorry for is the living infant and the dead son who got caught in the crossfire. Let's not lose focus, this woman was no victim stop treating her as such.

Howard HAS PROVED HIS GROSS LACK OF CONCERN and MEDICAL NEGLECT of Anna. The nurse and her doctors may be found to be guilty of GROSS MEDICAL MALPRACTICE! Howard was found to be STEALING A LEGAL PAPER in a TEXAS COURTROOM and was REPRIMANDED by the judge. Look it up! Do a Google Search on him!
WHAT IS HE GOING TO DO if the baby comes down with a fever??? Has she been seen by a pediatrician since her birth??? Where is she???
Get that baby out of the CLUTCHES OF HOWARD STERN and HIS FAMILY before it is too late!!!

29. I don't care where they bury her and Vicki Hogan doesn't either right now. For the sake of the living, I just hope she gets buried somewhere soon. If not, I think this situation alone could get even uglier than the paternity suit/s. Literally and figuratively.

30. Anna mother should just go away, the is no way they are going to give her the baby when the potential dad is still around. From what I have seen on tv and read, the people who did the autopsy, I amost saying Anna died from illness.
The people in Bahamas only granted that baby will not leave the country, why didn't they give her custody as she had requested in her pertition. The bottom line is every country in the world is govern by law, and stern got the law on his side and enough evident for 15 years(TV interview, Radio interview and Anna friends) that show Anna didn't want her mother around children and her. I wait and see which judge going to give her custody when the father is around.
