TMZ is just askin' ... what's wrong with this picture?
Eddie Griffin's ultra-expensive crash in a $1.5 million Ferrari Enzo has been all over television and the Internet today, but could the pricey wipeout really be a brilliant marketing ploy?
In the video obtained by CBS2 News in Los Angeles, it shows the car slamming into a concrete barricade. But, to quote Dr. Henry Lee from the O.J. Simpson case, "Something wrong."
Roll the video and take a close look at the guy standing next to the concrete barrier. He doesn't even flinch as the car comes near. Also, it's pretty interesting that after the crash, Griffin joked it up, saying, "Undercover Brother's good at karate and all the rest of that, but the brother can't drive."
This isn't the first time that one of Daniel Sadek's high-priced cars have been wrecked. During production of his movie, "Redline," two of the producer/real estate investor's expensive Porsche Carrera GTs were totaled during filming. One of the collisions was designed as a stunt. The other was an accident.
UPDATE: Eddie Griffin's publicist, Lori Jonas, told TMZ, "It was not a hoax. Eddie was racing for a charity to promote his upcoming film, "Redline." He got in an accident. He is suffering from neck and shoulder pain as a result of the accident. It was in no way a hoax."

If it was a hoax, they would have crashed a $200,000 or $300,000 Ferrari and still recieved the same press...not an Enzo. Check out the reaction time of anyone in that situation...you couldn't humanly react until the crash had already happened.
I just saw the video on tv ...Eddie cracked me up... "brother can't drive"....
I am so proud of Eddie, a very talented local man, but Eddie can't drive with a cone in his wheel well...!!
1. Who is Eddie Griffin?
2. Although it does look fake, what would be the purpose?
3. Obviously, I don't understand "celebrities."
the hoax is the guy standing by the divider. he was added to the video. watch it again and see how it stops, it is so obvious the guy standing is the fake.
i wondered why that fella didn't move over or anything......lol!!
it looks to me like it is a remote control some how and the guy standing there is controling it is why he does not budge a bit.
Even if it was a hoax, it would be pretty hard not to flinch if a car was coming right towards you.
The guy is looking through a camera. The focal point must have been just right for him not to be able to judge distance.
Real!!! The wheels are turned also.
People dont realize how much power a ENZO has.
Jen:
1. He is a D-list actor.
2. For publicity.
3. Understanding celebrities means that you have accept that they are egotistical, irrational, and live solely for publicity.
Either the first crash video is a hoax or the second crash video is a hoax or both of them are a hoax. The timing is too pat not to be a stunt to garner attention for EG's upcoming movie about racing.
