31. OK... does this now set the precedent for all drinking parents? If so, there will be a lot of kids without parents! Maybe the courts should look a little bit closer at MOM. I would be you will find an enabler or a co-addictive person. Does this make the punishment fair for Dad? I think not? This is a celebrity thing. They seem to all get taped by the oh, so perfect mothers! Waaa, Waaa, this is all so ridiculous. Not fair whatsoever.

I actually applaud David for having his daughter video tape him in his drunken state.
He's wants them to tape him so that he can see what he looks like drunk and maybe
he'll be so disgusted with himself that he'll stop drinking. Remember alcoholism is
a disease. What difference does it make whether or not they video tape him...they're
still witnessing him in this drunken state anyway.

Hoff should be embarrassed, but I don't believe his kids are suffering, he surely didn't curse his daughter like alec did!!! 40. He is a poor excuse for a father! How can any man ask his children to video him while drunk and eating like a slob on the floor? Has he no respect for his two daughters? He has no idea of the damage he is doing to them. Girls look up to their fathers for a male role model. What sort of role model is he providing? Most girls want to marry a man just like their loving fathers. In their case their role model is a drunk, out of control who has no dignity, integrity or decency. He is disgusting and it is a shame that his daughters don't have someone more dignified and responsible as a father.

41. What a heartless thing to do. How much do we know about the mother?

Is she a good mother?
Also, one of the reasons Hasselhoff has problems is that he misses his children so much. They already know he has a drinking problen.

I am so disappointed with the judge. And remember the judge is just a man. He can make mistakes too.
Lets hope Hasselhoffs attorneys are all over this ruling ASAP.

42. I certainly don't agree with the tape being leaked to the media by Pam and her divorce lawyer Deb Opri. Without a doubt Deb Opri leaked it to mentally wear down Hasselhoff and publically humiliate him; make him easy prey for raping him of his $$$$ in the settlement.

However, Hasselhoff is a recovering alcoholic and his teengage daughters have been exposed to all the stress and unpredictablity that comes with living with a substance abuser.

I don't believe he should be totally barred from seeing his kids. But, counseling is in order for these girls. From the video alone it appears the girls have been exposed to enabling and codependency behaviors. It was rather sad to see his 16-year old daughter in a role reversal; acting like the adult and her dad like the kid.

An entire family is impacted by alcoholism and not just the abuser.

And, it appears Pam is a questionable alcoholic herself; yet in denial of it.....so good luck to this family. Hope they find good counseling............ long term and the entire family stays committed and on track to treatment!

45. The judge has to take into account the psycholigcal impact of the teen girls, which is why he's ordered counseling for the entire family.

There's so much more to alcoholism than meets the eye. And, everyone in the household is impacted; not just the alcoholic.

These girls are at a very pinnacle developmental age. It is imperative they go into counseling to recoginze enabling and codependency. And, to make sure they recognize unhealthy relationships. Not at all uncommon for off-spring of alcoholics to wind up with mates that are alcoholics too.......easy to fall into the role of taking care of and covering up for a substance abuser, which is why counseling is imperative.

I'm more concerned about the mom's denial of being a substance abuser. At least Hasselhoff acknowledges and has faced his demons head on. And, he did so long before the video was released, which is a step in the right direction.

I question Pam's denial big time though!!! She shouldn't be throwing stones if she lives in such a glass house; especially with her girls well being at stake her. Come out and admit you have a problem Pam, and show your daughters a positive role model.
