Hilton's Shrink: Paris is a Wreck

5/15/2007 12:59 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Paris HiltonParis Hilton's delicate state of mind is keeping her out of the courtroom ... for now.

According to a declaration filed by Dr. Charles Sophy, a psychiatrist who has seen Paris "off and on" over the last six months, Hilton is "not capable of any meaningful participation" in a civil trial brought against her by diamond heiress Zeta Graff. In a $10 million lawsuit filed in 2005, Graff claims that Hilton spread "vicious lies" about her that were printed in the New York Post.

Paris' shrink claims that Hilton is "emotionally distraught and traumatized" from the May 4 hearing where she was sentenced to 45 days in jail for breaking probation in her DUI bust, and asked a judge to allow her sufficient time to recover. Paris HiltonIn the document, the head-doc goes on to explain that Hilton "Cannot effectively respond to examination as a witness or provide any significant input into her defense." In fact, Sophy claims that forcing Paris to participate on May 21 would "exacerbate her current mental condition." The horror!

As a result, the judge has postponed the trial date until August 22.

Calls to Hilton's rep were not immediately returned.

AFTERTHEFACT

I dont know Paris just reminds me of one those girls from highschool who act all sweet but have the fakest personality and only care about themselves and just use people and is only a good friend when she wants to be ( as long as SHE comes FIRST). She reminds of tthose girls that just go out and party with her "clique" and then spreads all the pictures out on myspace for everyone to be like "LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME. " Im sorry im not jelaous and i dont get jealous... but if i was a guy i definetly wouldnt go for her. I don't understand why they do.

I really don't care about her but.... god she honestly needs to just go away for a while. Im so sick of seeing her when i don't want to.

PLEASE GO TO JAIL, LEARN A DAM LESSON, BE A LITTLE MORE CLASSIER AND GO AWAY FOR LIKE.... A YEAR. hen come back and make all the gay albums and terrible movies you want.

If its a mental condition, it could likely be from her 'diet' of drugs and alcohol .... or, maybe she broke her teeth on the bars to her cell?

Thank the 'grownups' around her: parents, attorneys, lawyers.' Isn't there some law against influencing the morals of a minor?

This girl really is stupid! She depends on others to tell her when to pee! This is a pity all the money she has and will have and she does not even get an education that is worthwhile! She should pay to put another student through college each year and than she can feel worthy of something worthwhile...I do believe she was and is terrified..Let's hope she stays that way for a while or has really learned something through all this!

Paris,Paris,Paris, you are good. That poor judge that senteenced you and said you will not beat the system this time must feel as he looks like a fool.YOu made him look a fool and he probably will never live this down.He said, you will do your time, you will not get special treatment, then your time got knocked down from 45 days to 23 days, then you give urself up on a Sunday night, that counts for a whole day in the jail,You are back out again on Thursday morning, all i can say is that judge must feel like a fool.Your money has bought you freedom, you are not nuts, you definitely know whats going on as you can still match up your outfits and walk tall cuz you are sane and with it,you are a good actress, except in movies.i have a relative exactly like you only thing different is she doesn't have your money but she cries like you and gets away with things she shouldn't in the law.i guess if i say i'm nuts and i cry i could get away with anthing. Not here in the real world.YOur lucky this time but what about when your done your house arrest and start partying in public again. How are you gonna keep proving your mental state only gets bad when you do something against the law.I say Poor judge that sentenced you,his life must be one big joke,now......i am soooooooooo ashamed that you couldn'''t stand up for yourself because in your little t.v. shows you look like your so tuff but here in the real world, you would never make it.Ya shoulda stayed,Paris and proved you're not the brat you are putting yourself out there to be.bye now.

This is only the beginning of this circus. When her irresponsible behavior and bad life choices get her killed, America will have to go through another gut-wrenching media blitz on how "all around her really cared" and how much she was "loved". Demeaning descriptions of this poor, pathetic human being are just wasted words and not worth the ink to write them down.

I cant understand how the judge could let her go free. Anybody in jail for the first time is close to a nervous breakdown, lets face it, its stressfull. Oh poor Paris, I think the judge should be fired!!!!!!! NOT FAIR

I knew the little Princess would get special treatment from day one! It's amazing what having money can do. The little cry baby wasn't crying when she was driving drunk and out having a great time! With HER money she could have hired a driver rather than putting innocent prople at risk. And little Miss Pitiful has to now be regulated to her MANSION. WOW! What a horrible way to have to live. Little creep should have been forced to the laws that the rest of us have to abide by--but NOOOOOO. One call from Mommy Dearest and her attorney and doctor and she's free. Like she can't drink and party with her "friends" at her home in L.A. Poor little thing! My heart bleeds for her! Yeah, right! J. McKimmy BusyGal1001@aol.com

No doubt she is distraught. No love lost here BUT the L.A. jail is a terrible place, even for people who are more hardened than Paris. No person belongs there unless they've committed a very serious crime and are endangering others.

The worst part of this is this: because she is who she is AND her parents are loaded and can fight with their money and lawyers, this girl got out. The thousands who don't have $100 are stuck and many of them are also under great strain.

This country stinks. The rich get off and the poor and middle class are stuck. This isn't about Paris Hilton. It is about the inequity of the USA.

What this has shown us, is that money talks and walks. The rest of us would still be behind bars.

It is very sad how the justice system not only let Paris down, they have sent a message of how unjust our legal system really is. Paris, as well as, all celebrities need not be above the law. Paris needs humility to help her become part of the human race. Paris is no one special, just a spoiled rich girl that manipulates anyone and everyone in the name of personal gain. Our legal system is to uphold justice, integrity, and equality. Nothing good will come of this.

Didn't we already know she was mentally unstable when she was driving around with Nicole in a pink truck with two dogs that they dress up on a regular basis? The PSA idea is a great one!!!!!!!!!! That would serve her and us much better!

I think Paris should be left alone right now she has more trouble than most of us has in a lifetime. I know she made a lot of trouble for herself but why should we put more on her or do you think you would like for people to make life imbearable for you. Retha F. Harris
