Mama Lohan Squawks -- Lindsay "Misunderstood"

Dina LohanIt's one of the immutable laws of celebdom today: Stick a microphone in Dina Lohan's face, and she will talk, and talk -- and talk some more! Rather than trying to help Lindsay keep a low profile, Dina just throws up her hands and says, in effect, Hey, she's young! Thanks mom!

As an interview in the upcoming Us Weekly proves, some of Mama Lohan's replies are just disturbingly odd. When asked about how Lindsay's holding up after photos of her surfaced supposedly showing her doing drugs in a bathroom (vehemently denied by her rep), Dina says, "Lindsay doesn't even know who her friends are." Well, that's encouraging.

And then, justifying LiLo's incessant clubbing (even post-rehab), Dina says that the partying "is the fun part of the business," and points out that her progeny will be a ripe 21 in a few months. "She is so misunderstood," says Dina.

Party on, Mom.

64. The best thing Lindsay could do for herself would be to get the hell away from this woman! Man, I am SO grateful that my mom gave a damn about me. Poor Lindsay, her dad's a felon and her mom's a selfish twit, that's a lot of crummy parenting to try to overcome. Hope she can do it someday, she is a talented actress, but she looks more and more used with each day that passes. Very sad.

66. Dina is in so much denial, Chances are that lindsay will end up dead before she hits 25 from one of the following...over dosing or killing herself in a car crash. :-)

67. While I agree Dina needs to stop being Lindsay's friend, many of you are saying some things that are just wrong. Lindsay has admitted that yeah she was irresponsible during the filming of Georgia Rule, however, almost every critic has praised Lindsay in the film, just like Bobby and Praire Home Companion. The script is usually what takes the blame, not Lindsay.

But Dina, seriously now, stop talking. Lindsay needs to find new management, so her mother can be her mother.

68. A couple of years ago, before all this crap with Lindsays behavior started, she was being compared to the next Elizabeth Taylor ..... very classy. But it seems that Dinas Media Whore antics are ruining it for her. Instead of guiding Lindsay down the right path .... every time she gets into trouble, her Mom comes out with some stupid lame-o excuse for her that doesn't help her at all. Seems to me that Dina is trying to live vicariously through her daughter.

69. Dina, from one mother to another.

You're not helping your daughter at all. You're trying to live a life you could never have through her. Covering and making excuses is only hurting her and isn't teaching her any responsibilties. She's an adult and needs to be treated as such. Even good parents make their minor children take resposibilty for their own actions. It's how they learn to become responsible adults.

To me, you're just another enabler and Lindsey will be the one who loses in the end. Makes me sick.

70. It would help if Dina actually loved her child. This woman not only doesn't, she doesnt even love herself. It's a shame. She may say she does, she may think she does, but everything she days and does shows plainly to everyone but her. She appears to have a substance abuse problem herself. Pure denial.

When the crimminal exhusband/father would actually be a BETTER influence that the mother..well, thats just sad...
