Crusty Old Stars at Crustacean for TV Archive

6/5/2007 1:34 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Television took time to honor some of its ancients last night ... and they looked pretty damned good! Fossil-icious!

The Academy of TV Arts & Sciences brought out some Jurassic giants in the boob tube universe for a bash at Crustacean in Beverly Hills, to mark the filming for posterity of over 500 interviews with TV personalities, which took ten years. Little-screen luminaries included Brady mom and denture cleanser spokeswoman Florence Henderson (who adjusted her bra for our camera), 86-year-old giant -- Mickey Rooney, "I Dream of Jeannie" star Barbara Eden, Hot Lips herself; Loretta Swit, "Happy Days" parents Marion Ross (looking fabulous) and Tom Bosley, and 82-year-old Hugh O'Brian.

The creation of the archive was inspired in 1997 by Steven Spielberg's Shoah Foundation interviews with holocaust survivors.

Grab a Maalox and a Tylenol and take a look!

You commenters are insane. This is TMZ. They are mean to EVERYBODY. Always.

So, within that structure (constant mean-ness) were they really terrible to these people? They said they looked pretty damned good and Marion Ross got a "fabulous".

What do you want - People, In Touch or Us? Geez. There's a reason TMZ is where everybody goes - the snarky is funny.

TMZ, YOU NEED TO QUIT BEING SO RUDE. WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? TO TALK ABOUT THE PEOPLE THAT GAVE ALL OF US YEARS OF LAUGHTER IS ABSOLUTELY DISQUISTING. CRUSTY?????? I WONDER WHAT WILL BE SAID ABOUT YOU. YOU ALL HAVE REALLY WENT TOO FAR.

What on earth?

To the person who wrote this article, just remember that you too one day will be old. When you get there I am pretty sure that you would not want to be disrespected in the same manner you have disrespected these people.

Can you picture Britney, Lindsay, Paris or any other hollywood freak who will even be around in their 80's? With the booze, drugs and gawd knows what else making the rounds, they'll be lucky to make it to 50 or have anyone remember what they did for a living.

Florence Henderson is the poster girl for reasons NOT to get a thread-lift in your face.

If they pull those strings any tighter, she won't be able to move her mouth. GROSS!

You can be as snarky as you want about these people, but I was there -- actually inside, as opposed to lurking across the street with a dinky camera last night, and it was an awesome experience to be in the presence of so many tv legends. Facelifts or not, these people are hardly dinosaurs, crusty or anything else, they're individuals who contributed to our pop culture history and were there out of the goodness of their hearts to lend their support to the TV Academy's Archive. Not bad.

TMZ, little respect for the senior actors who help build Hollywood studios and made great movies in the day. I know it's a lot to ask of a third rate stale old tabloid rag like TMZ. I believe it won't kill ya to show a some respect. Oh...and the Paris Diaries....boring idea. Quit milking that cow.

I was glad to see that Hugh O'Brian was in the line up at this celebration. He is the founder of a wonderful youth leadership development organization called HOBY (www.hoby.org) He came to Louisiana a few weeks back and the 69 high school sophomores were mesmerized by his passion and belief in their abilities to go out in the world and achieve great things. Hugh was a major star back in the day and he has star charisma!
