Nicole to Diane: I Was Frickin' High!

Nicole Richie left little doubt that she was under the influence when she got popped for her wrong way driving, and said she was "incredibly lucky" not to have killed anyone.

Richie, surprisingly composed and sitting snugly next to boyfriend and baby daddy Joel Madden, talked to Diane Sawyer on "Good Morning America" this morning, and expressed noticeably more regret and self-consciousness about her situation than her friend Paris Hilton did with Larry King. Now that she'll be having a kid, says Nic, "I owe the baby my life."

As for her upcoming four-day stint in the slammer, Richie told Sawyer that she's not afraid of jail -- just of the unknown -- and Joel acknowledges that she's paying her debt. He also told Sawyer that he nearly dumped Nicole in the midst of her troubles, but stuck with her -- and now they're having a kid together.

And what of that kid? Richie and Joel don't know whether they're going to have a boy or a girl -- and they're not going to know until it pops out.

3. She sounds like another Lindsay Blohan!! Damn, these people are good actors. Soon as she pops that baby out, she'll be back to her old self again!!

Just hope the baby survives all the drama she's putting it through, w/all the booze and drugs she still does, & hope that the baby could lead a normal life and she does straighten herself out!!

4. Did Diane Sawyer as Nicole if she was worried about delviering a healthy baby considering her bouts with drugs, eating disorders and who knows what else?

5. That poor baby, what kind of health issues is this poor thing going to have, all the drugs and other crap Nicole was using and she can't even think of anyone but herself, doesn't even wait to dry out before getting pregnant and probably ruining the life of a human being. Selfish ugly woman. She is still so beyond skinny, even her unhealthy weight issues will cause this poor baby problems, on top of the drug problems. Two selfish twits having a child, and all the really wonderful people who are infirtile, just makes me sick that these two twits are going to have a child, probably with health issues because of Nicole's druggy life, and this child will probably be raised with the same lack of morals Nicole lives her own life without. Too much to take!

6. What in the world has Nicole Ritchie done to deserve being interviewed by Diane Sawyer? I can't believe this is what passes as journalism these days. I expect it from TMZ, but Diane Sawyer? WTF?

8. Nicole has taken responsibility for her actions & that's a good start. I wish her luck in the future. Wish Brit, Paris, & Lohan could do the same.

9. I believe this girl could turn her life around and this baby maybe the one to help her. We can't make assumptions that she is still doing drugs and drinking. All we can do is pray that she stays sober. I truly believe her and her statements. Where as with Paris it was a crock of poop!

11. I must say she is making herself look a lot better than her little sidekick. At least she is coming across remorsful and not crying for her dad like paris cried for her mom when she had to go to jail. Paris came across looking like a spoiled whiney brat and nicole is actually coming across like she knows she did wrong and she needs to take responsibility.

12. Seriously, do you like to see bad things happen to people. The woman did wrong, accepted responsibility and is trying to get on the right track. It actually appears Joel Madden is a good influence. Time will tell. Now Britney.........................................what a mess!

15. GET THIS LOSER OFF THE AIRWAVES...THERE ARE WARS GOING ON, BRIDGES COLLAPSING..AND WE HAVE THIS JUNKIE BEING INTERVIEWED ON A RESPECTABLE NEWS STATION. THERE ARE A MILLION OTHER THINGS MORE IMPORTANT THAN HER DRIVING HIGH/DRUNK. IT'S INSANE. IT'S SAD AND PATHETIC.
