TMZ has learned that Lane Garrison has been moved to the California Institute for Men, the state prison in Chino, Calif., for 90 days. He arrived at 9:51 AM PT.
A judge sent Garrison to the prison for 90 days to undergo a psychological evaluation to determine if he's suitable for probation. A hearing will be held on October 31 that will determine Garrison's fate. He'll either be set free on probation or serve more prison time.
Garrison was drunk and driving on the night of December 2, 2006, when he crashed his Range Rover, killing 17-year-old Vahagn Setian. Two teenage girls in the car were seriously injured.

Phew only 90 days, I was worried he wouldn't be released in time to buy Heidi and Spencer Pratt's album. They are so freaking talented I can't contain myself. Does anyone know where to purchase their tour tickets?
WOW! The Federal Government should be investigating LA criminal courts. 90 Days for murder? 1 Day for cocaine possession and two DWI's? 42 Days for driving with a suspended license? The DA and Judges should be the ones in prison!
OH WELL!! THAT KID GOT KILLED BECAUSE HE WAS SO ST UPID TO GET IN THE CAR OF A DRUNK GUY...
The 17 year old kid essentially committed suicide and people are still confused as to why. We're not sure if it was his recent breakup with his girlfriend, a bad fight with his parents, or that he was recently doing poorly in school. When he got into that car with Lane Garrisson he might as well have been pulling the trigger of a gun, I just wish he did it alone instead of involving possibly the greatest actor of our generation.
He's lucky it's only 90 days and we'll see if he does do 90 days!
You and Elizabeth should get together "Rick, of course you are, Moranis".
OMG DONT EVEN START WITH ME, WHAT I SAID IS TRUE, THAT KID KNEW HE WAS DRUNK, BUT HE ALSO KNEW HE WAS AN ACTOR, AND OF COURSE, HE TAUGHT THAT IT WOULD BE "COOL" TO HANG OUT WITH AN ACTOR, BUT INSTEAD GOT KILLED...ONLY A ST UPID PERSON WOULD GET INTO A CAR DRIVEN BY A DRUNK PERSON!! SO YEAH THAT WAS ST UPID OF HIM!!!
#3 you are so right. i guess if your gonna do drugs and get in trouble LA is the place to live.
ANOTHER JERK OFFCELEB GETTIN OFF EASY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ANY NORMAL PERSON WOULD BE DOING 5-7 YRS
Perhaps this will teach others a lesson. Lane Garrison didn't get the opportunity to commit a "Lindsay Lohan" and do it several times with no consequences. The fact of the matter is, you can kill people when you drink and drive. AND, you can be killed if you ride in the car with someone who has been drinking or done drugs.
It's unfortunate that lessons have to be learned in this manner, but hopefully it will sway others not to make the same mistakes.
Unlike other celebrities though, he does seem genuninely sorry for what happened.
He already plead guilty, and accepted a 6 year 8 months sentence. That means, with the 90 day observation, a little time in LA County Jail, goog work credit means 50 percent time off, he actually will face just under 3 years in actual custody at his hearing.
This being California, and involving a death to which he plead guilty, off drugs I'm sure he's a great guy, so will receive glowing reports from all the specialists.
However the Judge does not have to abide by any of the reports and can dimiss all their recommendation without an explanation.
It is very unlikely he will get probation in this case, which means from his hearing, he'll go to LA County Jail, then off to a reception centre in Bakersfield, and then off to SATF Corcoran until his release in about Aug-Sept. 2009.
Note to self: As long as you're sorry for killing someone, its no problem, in fact, the victim is really at fault. Come on down Elizabeth! We got a ride home for y'all!
The LA court system would be the laughing stock of the country, if it weren't so sad. You citizens of this county need to do something about these ridiculous sentences.
