Richie Escapes Paps by the Skin of Her Teeth

The dour Nicole Richie startled paparazzi by flashing -- a smile. Shock!


Nicole, who's been trying (badly) to hide from cameras since announcing her pregnancy, made a deal with photogs outside of hair lord Byron Williams' salon in Beverly Hills -- she'd give up the goods if paps stayed at a distance.

After a quick fakeout, Richie emerged and prompted one photog to cheesily sing James Blunt's "You're Beautiful." She laughed ... but anything's better than that Good Charlotte crap!

Women should strive to be like her.

It's unfortunate she hooked up with Joel or whatever that guys name is, but meh.. her choice. He's such a dork, and pretty much on the chubby side. Maybe if he drops to Nicole's weight I'll be ok with it. It would look awesome with his height!

7. I agree with #6. Good Charlotte's music is NOT crap and Joel is a sweetheart. I've been a fan of his for quite a while now. Nicole is lucky she found a nice, down to Earth guy. I've met him a couple of times and I've seen him in concert many times. He is not a dork!!! I wish people would stop hating on him and his band!!! She is lucky he didn't dump her after her wrong way drive last December!!!!
