Katie was a simple, sweet Catholic girl, who DID have a soul, and whose soul is now rebelling against the fact that she's trapped in a very bad situation. Shutting down is her only means of resistance. Spiritually, what she's doing is sticking her fingers in her ears and going "La la la la, this isn't happening."

Unfortunately for her, it is, and by the time it's over she'll probably be so defeated she'll never regain her old self.

47. Leave her alone!! Jesus........Have any of you looked at a picture of what you wore two years ago? It's much different right? Style changes constantly! Duh. And, there is certainly NO problem with wanting to dress conservatively once you bring a child into the world. Maybe she is a good example of what a wholesome mother should be. Hey, she's not out partying and getting drunk. So their beliefs are different from ours. How is criticizing them for their beliefs any different from hating blacks or mexicans? 48. Tom Cruise is so over! He is nothing more then a hench-man for Scientology, which is a cult. Poor Katie, use to be normal. Now she is his puppet, and doesnt even know it. 49. No 12 - you say she sold her career. not so..............when they break up, everyone will feel sorry for her and she will be the number 1 star for a while. Look at Nicole Kidman. She wasn't known too well before the breakup and she is no great actress but when the breakup happened, sympathy came with it and many movies - all of which were terrible except one. That's what she will get out of this marriage but of course she won't have Suri. Has anyone noticed that Tom looks like a little Hitler lately? What a creep!

She did seem very reserved on regis this morning. i'm sure she was told what to do and what to say by tom. she seemed a little nervous. it mus suck being under a microscope all the time. he loves it, he's a hasbeen, she still has somewhat of a career left. the baby is adorable!!! looks like her not him!!! i think he likes the fact that she looks 40, because it makes him seem less of a pedophile.

54. Oh for Pete's sake..Katie has just grown up -- she's now a wife and mother. Physically, the Katie I see here looks similar to the Katie I saw in "Pieces of April." She is completely recognizable. 59. I have never been that impressed with Tom Cruise, I liked several of his movies, but never understood why he was so loved by women. Katy was not anything special, and was rarely wrote about in the tabloids. But as soon as she hooked up with Tom Cruise, you would have thought she became royalty, suddenly she started acting like she was Jackie O or Princess Diana. Overnight she transformed herself into someone much more sophisticated than she really is. She has changed her wardrobe, she doesn't leave her house without her appearance being well thought out by a group of people hubby Tom hired, to help her look and dress the part of playing Mrs Tom Cruise. When you look at much bigger actresses, like Reese Whiterspoon, Jennifer Garner, Julia Roberts, you don't see them walking out in public always dressed up, most of the time you see them wearing jeans, fame hasn't gone to their heads. Katie Holmes playing dress up is only making herself look stupid. She thinks shes somebody now, she is smarter, more sophisticated, cultured, etc. and her and Tom thinks she must always dress like she is. Neither one of them have nothing more than a high school education. She is embarrassing herself by acting like she is Princess Diana. Nobody but the Paps care, the general public moved on from Tom Cruise years ago. Her and Tom are legends in their own minds, someone needs to tell them the rest of us think otherwise.

60. in a "whose the most boring person" contest between Katie Holmes and Lauren Conrad it's a pretty close race. They're obviously more put together than Lindsay/Paris/Britney but I could chug a Red Bull and still fall asleep watching either one of them.
