TMZ has learned Heath Ledger was sick with pneumonia when he died today in NY.

If he did overdose on Ambien he would have experienced sleepiness, confusion, dizziness, clumsiness, severe nausea or vomiting, staggering, difficult or slow breathing , slowed heart rate, unconsciousness and eventually death.
MAYBE HE THOUGHT HE WOULD WAIT THE PNEUMONIA OUT LIKE A LOT OF PEOPLE. SERIOUSLY, WHAT HEALTHY YOUNG MAN EXPECTS TO DIE FROM A "COLD?" Unless you're elderly or HIV positive, that is. Also, he probably attributed his sleepiness, confusion, dizziness, etc. to the pneumonia, I have the same, if not worse, symptoms during my period, but hopefully they won't kill me!
Also, as for him being nude ON HIS BED (not the bathroom as someone said), I sleep nude myself...or as someone else suggested, maybe he was getting ready to see the masseuse, and then again, maybe he was feverish and undressed to cool down. Whatever the reason, I just don't see this talented young man, who had so much to live for, commit suicide. He was really talented and will really be missed!

79. i think it boils down to this. I use to do 11000 mile roundtrip london to los angeles flights once every 3 weeks. it takes a HUGE toll on your body. this poor talented guy. was in perth australia wednesday night. then took that long flight back to london...went straight to a movie set. was photographed as late as saturday night filming....then took another flight back to new york. that is a heavy flight load and work load. crossing so many times zones, hemispheres with pnuemonia... poor man.

81. HEY . GAINGATOR, What the F*%K do you mean by precursor to aids. Heath does not have aids, I can't believe you would even imply something so ludicrous. As for those people saying he was found naked and on the toilet?? Where are you getting this rubbish from? There have been no reports about him being naked or in the toilet.
Do not trivialise his death, with rubbis like that. It is a huge loss not just to all of Heaths fans but to his family as he is a very much loved son, father, brother and partner.
To Heaths family we all love him and he will be sorely missed. My heart aches for his little girl. I love Heath and all his movies. Rest In Peace Heath. We miss you. XX OO

Granted...everyone has offered thier condolences and prayers to his friends and family....my question is this...if "jordan # 62" is correct in writing that Heath was in Perth and London earlier this week...couldn't his death be attributed to a "Pulmonary Emboli"....simple put, a blood clot in the lungs....which depending on its severily and your history of "pulmonary issues" ie..smoker/non-smoker/asthma etc...could 'mimic' pneumonia to the untrained eye....One would assume this 'pneumonia' diagnosis was obtained from an MD (most men don't seek medical attn)......but.....one can't rule out..."sudden cardiac death" or simply "respiratory failure" secondary to pneumonia and a single sleeping pill ( that would do it!!!) believe it or not....In the end...a young an promising actor has passed away and we are left with an all to small body of work and days of speculation ... and probable "muck raking" by numerous tabloids and media alike....I for one...believe/hope it was one of the above and not suicide.

89. It is sad. I am surprised all the movies they are talking about him making, but none of them mention A KNIGHTS TALE. I loved that movie. It was the first one where he was the star of the movie and he was so good in it. You can't take anything in life for granted.

90. Pneumonia would mean that he was prescribed narcotic cough medicine, mixed with sleeping pills and an already compromised respiratory system equals a horrible, tragic accident. RIP
