Lohan Distraught Over Ledger's Death

TMZ has learned Lindsay Lohan was seen sobbing inside La Scala with friends DJ AM and Samantha Ronson -- as the group consoled each other after learning of Heath Ledger's death.

Our cameras tried to get comment from Lohan about her former party pal's passing as she left the restaurant, but she was silent, and hid her face from cameras as her driver drove off. We're told the two were "very close" for some time.

25. People -- watch this clip again! She's not distraught over Heath, not in this video at least. She bashed her head on the A-pillar of the car as she got in the seat! Lindsey's not hiding tears by covering her face, but instead what will probably be a nice bump!

30. I looked at the video a couple of times to see where she hit her head - she did hit her head but she was not covering up that part of her with her hands, she was covering her eyes. Look real close.

I think Lindsay is genuinely distraught. As much as I enjoy TMZ for fluff gossip pieces, I think they are handling this all wrong. It is obvious as someone said above that TMZ only has dollar signs in their eyes and no respect for the dead or their loved ones.
