An autopsy on Heath Ledger was inconclusive this morning, pending toxicology results.
The New York Medical Examiner's office tells TMZ it will take anywhere between ten days and two weeks to obtain test results. As TMZ first reported, the death appears to have been accidental.
1. This isn't breaking. I read it on several other sites more than a hour ago.

2. I highly doubt he would have taken his own life. Having a child changes everything in your life, even your outlook on things, even if he was depressed or whatever. That I don't know personally but I can't see him being the kind of person to harm himself when he has a little one who depends on him. I just can't stand hearing all the "bad press" about this. I send my thoughts and condolences to his family, especially his little girl who is probably confused and upset to hear she won't see her daddy again. :(

3. He was 28 and possibly suffering from pneumonia, but some doctors who've been interviewed insist that it's difficult for one so young to O.D. on OTC sleeping pills. It will be over a week before anything conclusive is learned. (Speculation now includes a congenital problem.) This young man left his mark but it's a shame to lose him so young.

7. Just by looking at his eyes, IMO, he was doing heroin or cocaine. When the toxicology reports come back, it will probably be an accidental OD of one or both of those drugs. I don't think he OD'd on sleeping pills or anti anxiety meds. You could see he had coked-out eyes or doing heroin, plus his appearance became increasingly dishelved. If it was pneumonnia, the ME would have been able to tell right away which means they're waiting for toxicology reports and it will probably turn out to be a heroin and/or coke overdose.

8. You idiots. Heath was not a druggie. I'm sure with the pneumonia and lack of sleep, he may have injested a sleeping aid which in combination with being sick, shut his system down.
Think about Mathilda before you spread rumours. Think about his family.

11. Its devastaing how many good actors are dying lately. Goes to show that life is precious. My sympathy goes out to Ledger's family but especially his daughter. Who doesn't need a father in their life. RIP Heath Ledger

12. #9, I agree with you. We should stop saying it was suicide or anything else, and focus on the fact that a little girl might never remember her father, and his parents lost a son. Parents should never out live there kids.

14. i think people should have some common sense. he said in an interview that 2 ambien only worked for an hour for him. put it together-pneumonia depresses your breathing capacity that and sleeping pills could have caused him to stop breeathing. and since he just finished filming a movie in london over the weekend he might have wanted to try to get some sleep and the combination was too much for his body. no conspiracy. just a tragic mistake.
