Law enforcement sources tell TMZ Britney's psychiatrist got in touch with the North Hollywood division of the LAPD and set tonight's events in motion. 
As we first reported (see below), the shrink told cops that she was alarmed at her driving and her "downhill behavior." We're told the Captain at the North Hollywood division told officers, "Something must be done."
The EMS just arrived and we expect Britney will be taken to the UCLA Medical Center.

I feel so bad for Britney..It's a shame that she let her life go downhill. I'm hoping she gets the help she needs and can get back on her normal level.Hopefully it's soon cause alot of people are saying Britney will probably be the next Young star to die and I would hate to see that happen. Britney I dont know what happened to you but you have alot of loose screws up there girl. Get the help you need and stop rejecting it.
