Woody vs. Hipsters - Oy Vey!

Woody Allen is suing the skinny jeans off of American Apparel over the use of his image on billboards and on the Internet.

And in true hipster irony, it's not a sexual harassment case - as AA Chairman Dov Charney has been taken to court for multiple times. Allen is suing for $10 million saying he was never contacted by and did not give American Apparel his consent to use an image of him dressed as a Hasidic Jew from a scene in "Annie Hall." Not a very kosher move for AA!

In a U.S. District Court in Manhattan on Monday, Allen stated that he does not endorse commercial products or services in the U.S., which makes the May 2007 American Apparel billboards and website displays "especially egregious and damaging."

American Apparel billboards are usually clad with skinny young hipsters, often in compromising positions. The company did not immediately reply to an email seeking comment.

Well, if the guy will sue his onetime best friend (Jean Doumanian) and fight to the bitter end to recover the money his underperforming later movies eked out, I suppose he'll sue anyone.

He should have stopped and considered that he was being paid a compliment by this company. I mean, the guy's been largely ignored since "Hannah and Her Sisters." This actually generated some buzz and publicity for him. And after seducing his own stepchild, this guy could've used some positive attention.

American Apparel should argue they copied it from the internet on a google images search so that the Court has to deem it an image now "in the public domain" or as "fair use" and so Woody gets nothing, nada, zilch.
Woody supposedly can play jazz clarinet but he has never, ever been funny. Geez, I wonder if before Mia found out, he was doing a "mother-daughter act" but on the sly side? He's still a perv for marrying their adopted child: "vice is nice, but incest is best?"

maybe i'm reading way too much into this, but on wondering why aa would use a picture of woody allen, and not get his approval (they aren't stupid, they know it's illegal to use someone's likeness without approval) perhaps it is a statement on his refusal to endorse products within the US, when aa is very pro-made-in-the-usa because they make most of their clothes here and it is an important part of their business to support the us economy. Maybe they meant to annoy woody allen. that would be neat. how annoying to have a thing against commercial products made in the u.s.

This guy was father of the year in Hollyweird when Mia adopted all those kids, too bad he's acts just like his movies in real life. A total Perv-on wheels
