
At nearly 7'2", Kiel suffers from a hormonal condition called acromegaly.
Richard has four children with his second wife.



What a super nice man he is. I met him some years ago waiting for a flight at Burbank airport. He sat there and chatted with us until it was time to board. Very down to earth, very personable, just an all around wonderful person. The world needs more like him.
He came and spoke at our church sometime ago and dinner with us afterwards. He could have not been nicer. He really got a kick out of teasing my dad the pastor becouse my dad is not very tall. He even signed a autograph for me andsat next to me all during dinner. Glad to see he is doing well!
He is a gentle giant. My daughter at the age of 18 months walked up to him, held her hands out and reached for him. He picked her up, played with her, signed a poster with his autograph and gave me a most incredible memory of that special moment. Thank you Richard!
I work for Mr. Kiel, and I know for a fact that he's never been in the Coast Guard and that he is definitely NOT racially biased. Whoever wrote that is grossly mistaken. Also, it was Richard who played the part of the Kanamit in the Twilight Zone episode To Serve Man.
