"DWTS" -- Deaf and Numb

Cristian de la Fuente thinks the ruptured tendon in his left arm is comparable to the fact that Marlee Matlin is deaf.


He told Tom Bergeron and Samantha Harris that if he were voted on to the next round, he would power through his injury, saying, "Weeks ago, a deaf woman took the chance of dancing. I can dance."

If only he were mute.

48. I don't even think they are referred to as "Deaf" anymore it is "hearing impaired." Had he even used a more up to date word it would have sounded better. I think everyone knew what he meant, but it wasn't politically correct. I am glad he dropped the "dumb" in his comment.

59. TMZ, you're obviously comment-baiting jerks. and I've fallen for it. But the more people that set you straight, the more incentive you may have to actually correct your absolutely stupid post. Cristian was speaking with humility. Bergeron asked him if he was taking a risk by staying on the show with his injury--putting off surgery, and Cristian simply said, there was a deaf woman dancing, so yes, he will be able to dance. He was actually saying that his injury is NOTHING compared to how awesome it was that Marlee was competing without being able to hear the music.

Get your heads out of your self-indulgent rears, TMZ.
