What the Hell Does Congress Do All Day?

America's pissed the House of Representatives approved July as National Watermelon Month -- and even the guy who submitted the resolution, Florida Congressman Adam Putnam, thinks it's a waste of time.

4. I love how TMZ tries to get involved in politics with reports like this. It's cute. Like a fifth grader trying to give a book report on a book they didn't read cute.

Hey TMZ can you please report on the trade deficit or maybe Medicare presciption drug coverage? I really want a good chuckle.

7. In 1984, President Ronald Reagan designated July as National Ice Cream Month and the third Sunday of the month as National Ice Cream Day
So now the government thinks July should also be national watermelon month. I want a job in government... they apparently have a fun job and get paid very well on top of that!!

9. Adam Putnam is a Republican, and quite a conservative one at that, too. He's also high-ranking in the GOP leadership- I know, because I used to intern on the Hill. One of my older colleagues once told me that he "looks like Opie" from The Andy Griffith Show.
