Jason Castro: Lyrically Challenged

The trainwreck that is Jason Castro finally derailed for good last night when he completely effed up a line of "Mr. Tambourine Man" -- and just mumbled along instead.

And you thought Bob Dylan was tough to understand.

107. When you sport dreads, you also pass the spleef. Close your eyes and just try to listen to this boy sing. He has a career alright, and it goes like this...Would you like fries with that Sir!!!! Maybe the 70's Show will recast for next year, he might get a call, probably not.

108. Hey, I appreciate a metaphor as much as the next person, but "trainwreck"? Try "roadkill", for the way the TPTB achieved their dream finale (David/David) by running over Jason, backing up and hitting him again. No one deserved the treatment he got, and no apology. Remember, of the final 6 (at least) Jason was the only one who was truly "undiscovered". No previous recording contract, no vocal coach, no stage parents. Did his inexperience show? Absolutely! And, of course he wanted to go home: they all do! But, guess what? He won't be going home until after the tour. So, for those who think he set himself up, think again.

The ‘Idol’ finalists
There are only three contestants remaining on “American Idol” after Jason Castro's ouster.

On Wednesday, in response to a caller question about the contestants’ most challenging experience on “Idol,” Castro answered “Uhhh … the brain being dead.” Later, as he stood onstage in the bottom two with Syesha Mercado, he quipped “Somebody told me that I shot the Tambourine Man yesterday. I thought that was pretty funny.”

But he also said that he had followed Simon Cowell’s advice and packed his suitcase. He was ready to go, and the viewers kindly sent him on his way." From the following website: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24511052/from/ET/

So glad he's gone. I LOVED the "Paper or Plastic???" comment above. Let me add to that one: "Would you like fries with that?"

111. It amazes me that no one has noticed that this guy could be a Tiny Tim clone! He should have sung Tiptoe through the Tulips last week!

112. I would have paid $100.00 to hear him sing "Tip Toe!"

113. Wow-am I the only one who thinks he is completely comfortable in his own skin and really is motivated to make it in the music business on his own terms, singing his own style of music. For those not in the know Jason only started singing in public 2 months before the idol auditions. He is self taught. His genre, prior to idol, was folksy and praise/worship. He is totally laid back and at peace with himself. With that said, I DO think he wants to go home and, after the tour, get started on a career. Before all of this he sang at Lakepointe Church and was attending college. Good luck to the kid whatever he decides to do. To make it this far is pretty wild!

114. Those of you who think Jason wanted to leave the show, from what I understand, he didn't WANT to go. He WANTED to win, he was just stressed out..and who wouldn't be after going through everything the idols have to go through. He never said "don't vote"...you just mistook it for that. He said "vote, vote." I can only imagine that being insanely busy and being shut off from real life and your family would be really tough to do. I think Jason should go back home, go back to school and play some Dallas gigs..I would hate to see oober fame get to his awesome personality...because he seems wonderful.
