18. Anyone who ever worked with Mr. Borgnine has had nothing but nice things to say about him. He was always a nice, pleasant person. I'm glad to see him looking spry and healthy at ninety years young!

22. I saw Marty not too long ago on DVD, and it's a wonderful film. Mr. Borgnine deserved his Oscar.

He's a great actor, and I hope he carries on another 90 years.

23. As far as I'm concerned, anyone who wins an oscar earlier in his career, then comes back in his 80's to do voiceover work (he does "Mermaid Man" in the Spongebob cartoon series), where he makes fun of himself being old, is OK with me. Very funny guy, and does great work. Viva Mermaid Man!

24. Ernest is THE MAN. HE WAS SO COOL IN THE MCHALES NAVY SERIES AND SUCH A BASTARD IN THAT MOVIE WHERE HE WAS A RAILROAD guyWHERE HE WAS EMPLOYED AS A PERSON WHO KICKED BUMS OFF THE TRAINS"EMPEROER OF THE NORTH" NO? So he's old and doesn't need your B.S....still very cool!!!

25. The year he won the oscar was the year "Marty" won Best Picture, and Best Director.
His competition for Best Actor:

Spencer Tracy, "Bad Day at Black Rock"
Frank Sinatra, "The Man with the Golden Arm"
James Dean, "East of Eden"
James Cagney, "Love Me, or Leave Me"

He didn't stand out, imo! There were just too many character actors who were just as good, or better.

26. I thnk he acted like a jerk....He should keep his old, wrinklely claws off the camera...He was one of those academy voters that would not watch Brokeback Mountain, or obviously vote for it because it made him feel uncomfortable...so because of people like him, an inferior movie, Crash, won the academy award for the wrong reasons...NOT A NICE MAN!

29. What a guy!! He's great! Bet these guys who call themselves actors now, wish they had the talent he has in his little finger. They don't make 'em like Ernie anymore!! God Bless!

30. Wow, age is so horrid! Really, it should be legal and probably will in the future to just "off yourself "....maybe we will not have to because this Empire will be the target of the whole world thanks to "W" we will all be just specs in the universe.
