This is invasion of privacy PERIOD!!! If it's not illegal for you to post them TMZ it should be and you should STOP. Everyone is forgetting this kid is still a minor not a grown adult. And everyone should stop blaming him for John's injuries. John was an adult who got into a car and made a choice not to wear his seatbelt. He wasn't trying to get Nick to stop racing (if that's what they were doing) He was probably egging him on because he raced too. It's not like he was screaming at him to stop and trying to get out of the car people. All this was was a tragic accident. Even though John is laying up in a hospital and will probably be a vegetable for the rest of his life he holds most of the responsibility here because he was the ADULT. Hello Nick was only 16. Wouldn't that be contributing to the dilenquincy of a minor almost. John's parents are only suing because they want money. I hope they don't get a cent. It's a sue happy nation........... Eight months is nothing (if he even serves all 8) compared to what that other family is going through. does anyone know what the usual penalty is for an act like this??? Is Nick serving the normal sentence? I ask this because if its more or the same as any other person would be subjected too, then I totally feel he has the right to complain about the way he is being treated in the jail and no one should belittle him for feeling the feelings that he has because they're normal. You put yourself in his position and I'm sure your phone conversations to your mom would sound the same way. Now, if he's serving less time than the average person for this crime, then I can see how and why some people would make the comments that are being made. If its less, then Nick should be grateful that the time isn't more. However, I still think people are being extra insensitve because he's a "celebrity". People are people regardless of the amount of money in their bank accounts and I just think that before you make judgements on someone's hardships you should put yourself in their position. And don't say you'd never be in their position, because you don't know. Think about it, do you think Nick said "today I'm going to crash my car and cause hurt to everyone around me???" Did he say "today I'm going disable my friend?" NO, its what we call people, an ACCIDENT!

This is probably the first real punishment he has ever received. I agree with everyone else...compared to his friend, jail is nothing!
