Hulk's Emancipation Proclamation

5/25/2008 5:32 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

For reasons that defy explanation, Hulk Hogan explained to his son Nick that he thought it would be a good idea for him to be emancipated, so that he can "make his own decisions."

I'm no legal expert....but...
Nick was tried as an adult, and convicted.
To get emancipated, wouldn't the court have to legally declare him a minor first?
Seems like an appeal strategy to me.

This family makes my stomache churn! No wonder both Nick and Brooke are stupid , vapid fame whores, look at where they learned that behavior. The Hogans make the Spears family look nice and wholesome! I hope John's family sues them big time and I hope they win big time.

Isn't it sad that their daughter is tall and muscular and their son is short and wimpy?

The parents are respomncible for the actions of their son in the crash. He would have had to be emancipated at the time of the crash to have a bearing in the civil suit. It was most likely the parents as the primary insured on the insurance policy. All their assets will be called into play, including all the LLC's they have. In Florida your home is not able to be taken, hence why OJ Simpson set up residency.

I also don't buy the child support issue. Weeks until he is 18.

More likely, it is for a legal way to have him moved to another jail and be able to handle his legal issues in this regard without his parents.

His income, quite possible. They are paid for their "reality show".

LOL- just a scheme to get himself out of paying child support for three more years, nothing more- VERY funny that he can't simply tell Little Nicky the truth, and instead is taking full advantage of the fact that the boy IS clueless- lol.

Way to go, Hulk- once again, throwing your kids under the bus for your own personal financial gain.....

Then again, Hulk went back on his word to pay for John Graziano's hospital bills- so why should we be surprised that he can't be a man and honor his own child support payments?

And yes, the judge is JUST a bit smarter than The Hulkster, and will deny any emancipation of Little Nicky, because only Little Nicky fails to see this action for what it really is.

Ah, just more fuel for the civil judgement as to Hulk's true character; Hulk's stupidity is just the gift that keeps on giving..... At this pace, Hulk is going to make OJ look like Mother Teresa.......

Yes, child support CAN be enforced beyond the age of 18, it it's shown the child is still dependent upon the parents (i.e.- a child still in college) -up until the age of 22, actually.

That's what this is all about. Nothing more.

Lawsuit Over Tragic Crash Takes Hulk Hogan's Family to Task
Date posted: 03-25-2008

PINELLAS COUNTY, Florida — A civil lawsuit was filed Monday in Florida on behalf of the young man seriously injured last year when Nick Hogan smashed his Toyota Supra into a palm tree. The suit uses standard language in seeking damages "that exceed $15,000." The most intriguing part of the lawsuit is the detailed picture it paints of the Hulk Hogan family as one that encouraged "reckless" driving.

Nick Hogan, whom the lawsuit describes as a "professional drift driver," is the son of Hulk Hogan, the former pro wrestling star, and Linda Bollea. The family is listed as defendants by their given names: Terry Bollea (Hulk Hogan), Linda (Hogan) Bollea and Nicholas Bollea. The lawsuit holds the parents responsible for "Nicholas Bollea's lack of judgment and careless manner of driving on the roads in the state of Florida." It also claims that Hulk Hogan bought alcohol that his son allegedly drank on the day of the crash.

"Oh, I love it, I love it," the lawsuit alleges Linda Bollea said about her son's street racing. "The rush, the speed on the road, stereoblasting [sic], heartpounding [sic], racing in between all the cars, dodging the cops. It's awesome." The suit was filed in the circuit court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Florida's Pinellas County, where the family lived at the time of the crash.

The lawsuit also claims that Hulk Hogan knew, or should have known, that the Supra had been modified to have "in excess of 400 horsepower."

The lawsuit charges that Nick Hogan and Daniel Jacobs, who is also named in the suit, were engaged in "racing from light to light." Nick Hogan was behind the wheel of a 1998 Toyota Supra that he jointly owned with his father; Jacobs was behind the wheel of a 2003 Dodge Viper owned by Hulk Hogan. John Graziano, the 23-year-old Iraq War veteran who was a passenger in Nick Hogan's vehicle, is on a ventilator as a result of the crash, according to Florida media.

Among the more interesting details in the lawsuit: the list of speeding tickets given to Nick Hogan. It alleges that he blew past a Florida highway trooper on September 17, 2006, at 107 mph in a 70-mph zone on the highway known as "Alligator Alley." Later that day, he was stopped by another trooper for driving 115 mph in a 70-mph zone. The lawsuit claims Nick Hogan would "practice and/or engage in 'drifting' on the public roads in the state of Florida."

What this means to you: Enabling is the word that comes to mind, at least if you believe the lawsuit's claim that the Hogan family encouraged their son's need for speed. — Anita Lienert, Correspondent

I am sick about this family. They are by far the LOWEST of the LOW. Nick is 18 in less then 45 days. NO judge in their right mind would EVER allow that to happen. WHAT is going on with this family. TMZ you need to offer them a sit down to explain their nonsense. Better yet get Oprah to do it. She hates white people and this would really take the cake.

If the Nicster gets emanipated while he is seventeen, then the "Q" Ball and that washed out rag, of future ex-wife of his, will have minimum Liability in the suit. This is a legal strategy; and I can only hope that the victim's family files their suit before "Q" Ball can have Jethro emanicipate himself. WHERE IS THE PROSECUTOR?

I smell a big fat HULK of a rat in all this emancipation talk. What a total TOOL and crappy father Terry/Hulk is and the worst POSSIBLE role model. The way he speaks to his son, all the cussing (which, extreme cussing just means the person lacks a decent vocabulary and good mind to use other words). I honestly feel sorry for Nick on some level because he will never have a clue after growing up with a horrid example or a man for him to emulate.

BOYCOTT EVERYTHING HOGAN/BOLLEA. IT ALL SUCKS.

The car crash happened while Nick was a minor. The lawsuit was filed while Nick was a minor. Emancipation would have to impact whatsoever on the civil suit. Insofar as child support. Nick is not in college. Probablis own income from their "reality" show so dependence should not be an issue either. Maybe Terry just wants to cover his assets before Nick can do something else that is going to cost him all of his money.

Ok here we go with another celebrity scandal! Everyone wants to bash Hogan! Let me just say this...
Hogan is a great father, he takes good care of his kids, if you honestly think he will let Nick go without support you are retarded.

AND for everyone bashing Terry, I daresay you wouldnt bash him one on one and if you say you would, it is only because you are behind a computer screen and not in his face, I know how Terry would react and you wouldnt be pretty much longer after bashin him to his face.

"Well, your honor. You see, at the time of the accident Nic , my darling loving son, was in the process of emanipating himself from me and my wife, who has left me now because I'm old, bald, and practically crippled. Therefore, how can the two of us possibly be liable for the fact that on the night of the accident, Nic, drank at our home; or the fact the car he was racing against was mine." Nice Try, "Q" Ball. Your no mental giant because Stevie Wonder can see what your trying to pull...

Yep, very true, although SOMEHOW LIttle Nicky managed to trip over a GED. So Mommy could enroll him into some community college in order to extend child support- cause Little Nicky does need a trade..... Righttttttttt.....

Also very true- if I were Hulkster's lawyer, I might suggest that Hulk attempt to divest himself of Little Nicky in any way possible, for the probability of Little Nicky screwing up once again before he is no longer a liability to Hulk is quite high- why risk it?

SOOOOOO funny listening to Hulk explain to Little Nicky why it's in his best interests to emancipate himself, tho- it actually does make me pity the little weasel a bit- thanks Dad!
