Where did you get that information? Beards were very common during that time as well, or we wouldn't have so many statues from that period with men with full beards.
As for the long hair, I think it says in the Bible somewhere that Jesus had long hair.
His skin was bronze, his hair and beard were like wool. The hair style would not have been very long.
Like most men he most likey had it long and short at times and sometimes shaved. So don't have a cow over it.
