Hollywood Cheapskates and Tightwads

So our spies at a few Hollywood restaurants have weighed in on celeb tippers and gyppers. And the verdict is in.

We're told the worst celeb tippers at STK are two of the richest folk in town -- the Beckhams. We're told a restaurant once comped David and Victoria, and guess how much they left by way of tip? Nada.

On the other end of the spectrum, Ryan Seacrest is off the charts, once leaving five hundred dollars on a one hundred dollar tab. He's either a really nice guy or he just sucks at math.

UPDATE: The owner of STK tells us that our spy is wrong, the Beckhams are "great customers and excellent tippers."

1. umm- People in Britian don't tip because they pay their wait staff enough. They don't have to supplement their income by begging for tips. Unfortunately alot of British people don't know we are suppose to tip here.

3. There are celebs like the Jolie-Pitts that only give when it's a photo opt and celebs like Ryan that quietly give and try to help everyday Americans. I admire Ryan's method more.

5. In some countries the tip is included in the bill and tipping is only done for exceptional service above and beyond. Perhaps a little lesson in American ettiquette is in order for the Beckhams

6. The Beckhams have been here long enough to know tips are expected.

8. Thats what is wrongwith this world, peopel who have 100's of millions of dollars get their meals comped, while people who are starving can't eat, that is backwards and disgusting.

9. Give me a break! It's not like the Bechams are small town woodchucks. These jetsetters have been around the best that $$ can buy and travelled the world. It's dispicably tacky and disrespectful to not tip a server. They know exactly what they're doing .

10. Tipping in the Country is lame!

Does a waiter in an expensive restaurant do more work then an inexpensive restaurant? Does a more expensive entree require more work on the part of the wait staff then a less expensive one? No, but we base our tips on percentages so although the effort and work is the same, the person ordering a more expensive entree is expected to tip a higher amount. The waiter has nothing to do with the meal, only the service of that meal. Why should I tip more because I order a steak as opposed to a salad? The attention and level of service is the same.

Yet we as American’s love to waggle our fingers at those that do not tip to our satisfaction. We love to call them cheapskates and penny-pinchers because they didn’t give 20% on a $400 tab. Because they didn’t give $80 to a person whose level of skill is comparable to a high school drop out for an hour of work.

That is B.S. If you have ever waited tables you would have a different take on this. Waiters make a few dollars an hour PLUS TIP!! I don't agree with the mandatory 15% gratuity however, I think it is a reflection on your service for a customer. I mean, unless the waiter stuck his johnson in your soup right at the table, he should get a few bucks for his service

15. Hmmmm. seems to me that tipping is a crock!! If you went to college and had a real job, you wouldn't have to worry about, "...penny-pinchers and cheapskates..." I work hard for my money, so why should I fork it over to someone who has no real skills other than bringing one's entree to the table.

Let them get a college education if they want decent pay!
