"C" You Later Trendy L.A. Eatery!

Newsroom CafeSome big stars may want to check their B.M.'s today.

The Newsroom Cafe on Robertson Blvd. in Los Angeles -- where Jeremy Piven, Kim Kardashian and Lindsay Lohan among many others love chowing down -- scored a "C" Food Facility Rating, which is the lowest rating above flat out failing. For the record, a "C" is like what you would rate Pauly Shore as a celebrity.

The Newsroom tells us the problem was with their fridge -- that it was a couple of degrees off, and they were docked for each item inside. They say they've spent 40 grand replacing it.

We're checking with the City.

1. How is this more important than Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban having a baby this morning and naming her Sunday Rose??? That's what I want to know........

6. Perhaps this might explain why some of the "stars" look so miserable after leaving there ...

7. The last time I ate there was actually the last time I will ever eat there. I had a nice piece of black hair in my soup (my hair is blonde...yes, I'm a natural). The server was rude about it - and the manager was no better. The good news was I found it after my first spoonful - I decided to just leave after that. "C" should never be acceptable - they should have made sure their fridge was working before hand...Most restaurants in Los Angeles always have "A"'s. Shame on Newsroom.

8. LA city doesn't handle the food ratings. LA *COUNTY* does, provided you are not dealing with Pasadena and Long Beach (or Vernon, but there's no food in Vernon). Just check the website. All the info is there. And if you really wanna know, call the LA Dept. of Public Health CIO, and they can help you get a hold of the restaurant inspection report.

but you didn't hear that from me...

9. I am so glad i moved out of Los Angeles, its absurd how they grade their restaurants.

12. The News Room didn't build a reputation by serving bad food while he was there. In fact, all the "stars" ate there because of Chef Eddie J's commitment to health and great food!
Why else would it have become so popular? People are not fools and would not have kept coming back and bringing their friends and family back if it had not been Great Food.
The new owners obviously do not have the same commitment to excellence and attention to detail that Chef Eddie did and does have in his new place,

Interim Cafe, on 6th and Wilshire.

I know he has a high level of taste, and a commitment to serve clean healthy food no matter what.
These restauranteurs that bought the Newsroom, obviously don’t have the same commitment.
Never fault the originator of all the great recipes and the whole concept of the News Room. he is still committed to serving healthy happy food for us all.
I suggest if you are missing Chef Eddie J's food try his new place, still in transition, but serving fine organic food while it goes through it's re-design.
