If this is true, sad.

Is he perhaps bipolar? Stress and lack of sleep are a lethal combination for bipolars. And anything that throws off your body's rhythm, such as a long flight and a change in time zones.

Of course, violence is never justified, but it makes you wonder what his family is like and how he was raised. He seems the type to have been bullied by his father and/or mother as a kid.

I hope this is some kind of big mistake but how convenient that this happens right when the Batman film is released. Any extra publicity for that movie, no matter what it is, will only draw bigger audiences at the theater.

There isn't any evidence of battery or assault on his mother or sister. Apparently, people are oblivious to the whole truth or what the word estranged is. He had been estranged from both individuals and now all of the sudden due to his current amazing blockbuster hit, they ask him for money. HMMMM like Nancy Grace says "this is very suspicious!" He is an amazing actor and has done a fabulous job at staying out of the lime light. How ironic the night before his big opening in London, his mother and sister make these malicious allegations. He will be exonerated of these false accusations.

Whatever he might be, be it bipolar, a drug addict, or just a plain old spoiled youngest child--or none of these...It looks like to me from this that he is trying to be, at least on this occasion, a good husband and Dad. You can't fault him for that--give him a break...
