The Woman Who Beat McCain's VP

John McCain's VP Governor Sarah Palin hasn't lost the election yet, but she did lose the 1984 Miss Alaska pageant to Maryline Blackburn, coming in second.

According to her website, Maryline "is a singer with a wide spectrum of performing experiences." Maybe she'll perform at the RNC in St. Paul on Monday.

1. TMZ... WTF? Can you be any MORE slanted (or political) in your coverage? Most of us come hear to read the "light news" about celebrities' lives. If we want political slanting, we can go check out CNN, CBS, NBC, ABC, or FOX. Grow up!!

5. Liberals alway gotta hit below the belt to make their point. Let's have you run another column on John Edwards or Bill Clinton's "girlfriends". LOL ...

Be respectful and get over it!

11. This is outrageous! Who does John McCain think he is? He picks some under qualified nobody with hardly a political record to speak of. Absolutely horrific and a complete slap in the face to Hillary Clinton who has worked tirelessly for YEARS to make a strong name for herself. This decision is absolutely horrific and disgusting.

13. Looks are a big plus in politics, as in life in general. I figured whoever the Republicans chose would be attractive with good hair, but it looks like they went overboard to balance out the 'gnome' look that John Mccain has. It will be an interesting race.

14. Sarah Palin is one high-maintenance ICE WITCH by looking at her photo. While the good thing is, she reminds us of Michael Palin of Monty Python by name, she also reminds us of the worst of corporate greed by how she wants to tear into the Wildlife Preserve in Alaska to get drilling going. That is not progressive. Offshore drilling in far more favorable and less risky environments around the US coastlines in the lower 48 should be considered, not onshore drilling in such a vulnerable and valued area. Now we know that her ambition is more important than values. She's a would-be Earth-rapist! How is that progressive? That's not politics, it's Neanderthal.

15. she is awesome and a great speaker... i am impressed... she may of lost the beauty contest but she WON my vote. Way to go #6!! Being a "great speaker" is one of the main "knocks" against Bama. I guess it doesn't apply in this case.

If I were a woman I would be insulted. McCain feels like he can go and get "any ole woman" and put her on the ticket and win the women's vote. I would hope they don't fall for that trap.
