47. I really wish that I could pick a brain of a Republican. Only problem is,Republicans are one of two things: 1.Filthy Rich, or 2. Uneducated and just follow what their church/small town tell them to do. I don't know anyone that fits in either of those categories. (Thank God) What the HELL do you think McCain/Palin are going to change about this country? If you don't think this country is in need of serious change, GO F*CK*NG educate yourselves OR DON'T VOTE!!!!!!!

48. Corey, you need to learn something about the different types of economical philosophy. Communism is not the same thing as socialism. Socialism is what gave us our unions, fair wages and allowed blue collar workers like my family to own their own house and for me to go to college.
Communism is what they had in the Soviet Union, a very oppressive government where people starved, froze in the winter and lived several families in a small apartment, people whose ancestors had lived in Russia for generations. Communism is what destroyed the Soviet economy. They haven't recovered yet although I think it's getting better from what I've heard.
Capitalism is what has given us millions of people out of work and losing their houses, gas prices which topped over $4 a gallon, heating oil that's going to be through the roof this winter and rising food prices which will top who knows where.
Obama is not a socialist but if he can get the economy under control, I don't care how he manages it. I'm trying to decide if this is the month I pay the electricity, the phone or oil to heat my house (which I inherited from my parents or I wouldn't have it) because I can't pay for all of them. I'm tired of wearing ten year old clothes because I don't want my daughter to have to fell ashamed when she goes to school. I'm tired of settling for picnics on the beach within walking distance because I can't afford to take a vacation. Heck, I'm tired of having to listen to the Red Sox on the radio because I can't even afford basic cable. This is what your Bush/Cheney government has given me and McCain/Palin will just be more of the same. We can't survive it.
Go Sox

50. Republicans fear socialism because they want to exploit people and hog all the wealth for themselves.

52. ACCORDING TO THE BOOK OF REVELATIONS:
The Anti-Christ will be a man, in his 40s, of MUSLIM descent, who will deceive the nations with persuasive language, and have a MASSIVE Christ-like appeal...the prophecy says that people will flock to him and he will promise false hope and world peace, and when he is in power, he will DESTROY everything.
AND NOW:
For the award winning Act of Stupidity of all times, the People of America want to elect, to the most Powerful position on the face of the Planet--The Presidency of the United States of America... A Muslim Male Extremist between the ages of 17 and 40.
Have the American People completely lost their minds, or just their Power of Reason??? I'm sorry but I refuse to take a chance on the "unknown" candidate OBAMA!!!

54. Since landing the Democratic nomination, Obama has never obtained the commanding lead that conventional wisdom would dictate he should have. I'd imagine Liberals must be kicking themselves right now. Any other Democratic candidate would have a 20 point lead over John McCain. Too many citizens appear to have a nagging doubt about Obama, and rightfully so in my opinion. The current polls beg the question, why has this base-energizing, messianic candidate failed on so many levels to lock this election up? Instead of questioning this extraordinary lack of achievement, all media outlets have chosen to circle their wagons around Obama and borrow their horses' blinders. As a voter in a battleground state, I have to say the unabashed endorsement of Obama by the media, coupled with a simultaneous refusal to scrutinize him or his policies (am I the only one that wants to know exactly how he is going to cut 95% of Americans' taxes while endorsing $600 billion in spending?), is a most baffling (and disturbing) phenomenon.

57. What is the left so AFRAID of? Oprah must have Sarah Palin on the program... If the "chosen one" is so awesome, then the Democrats should have nothing to worry about.

58. You know, Aja, I do believe that McCain/Palin is a far cry better than Obama/Biden, Although McCain isn't as cemented as I would prefer, I believe Palin will bring the balance. And the war in Iraq, while taking several lives is improving and saving how many more? I'm glad we have men and women brave enough to stand up and fight to better society. Even the war in Iraq is improving America by the way we are dealing with extremists. And so on, the economy always takes a downward turn in election years. It just so happens that Bush is there and a convenient scape goat for all things. It will bounce back. I, however, believe that McCain's bounce will be better for us than Obama's. I like to decide where my money goes and if the cause is worthy. For instance, I would rather the future generations of the world thank me for lobbying to let them be born and not aborted as opposed to far less of them thanking me for saving the wolves and bears. If they're not here, they can't enjoy it. You can't tell me the troubles of the world are going to go away no matter who we put in office. It's a simple matter of damage control and what's better for the people, not what's easier and more self-serving.

59. Sam - we fear socialism because we are free..not because we want government in our business night and day. We fear socialism because it hinders and takes away our freedom. We fear socialism because we actually like that we have wonderful doctors in the US. We fear socialism because we do not want to be like Cuba...I just don't understand what it is you don't understand?

60. First, Obama is not Muslim. I am not saying that I love him as a candidate but what i do love is the freedom of the United States and the rights that I have been given to free speech (Palin wanted to ban certain books from her library) and the right to choose. Not that I think that abortion is right but I can see in certain situations (rape, incest) that it might be the choice someone would want to make. It is not anyone's right to tell someone else what to do w/their body. Period.
Also I am from an oil rich state and work for an oil company. In fact, my state has 2 of the top 5 largest oil companies located in it. I can tell you that drilling for oil in Alaska is not going to solve our energy crisis. It would add to the reserves but it wont solve it. People need to start looking at alternate energy sources such as switchgrass and natural gas. Check out what T. Boone Pickens and Aubrey McClendon have to say on the subject. It is very interesting and enlightening.
