11/4/2008 3:37 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Props to Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick for taking their six-year-old son to witness the voting process -- but major jeers to the woman who called little James the couple's "beautiful daughter."

2. Well, what do they expect? Cut that damn hair and then pass the scissors to Kate Hudson and Celine Dion!

everyone seems to be quick to make a judgement about this beautiful child, shame on all your suburban souls. This is a child of NYC not Peoria. He will be who is will be regardless of his arty parents and his progressive neighborhood. Really, is it fair to judge a child. Maybe Redmond O'Neil would be a better place to start with the taunts, if that is your joy. sad

Rest in Peace

Hey Richard S, we aren't judging the child, we're judging the dumb@$% parents. Another one who says let the child be who he wants to be! How does he know, he's about 4 years old! You don't have kids do you Richard??????

Why are so many people writing "definately" instead of definitely ?

The point is that they didn't invite you to view them exercising their rights as Americans to vote. Maybe they like long hair on their son, maybe the boy likes it too. He does not look neglected. If anyone saw how I looked yesterday when I voted, they would have banned me from the polling place. Looks are an obsession with most of the public, however, the Brodericks have shown time and time again that they just go about their business and don't get caught up in that. Leave them alone, they aren't bothering anyone expect you losers on here that feel they can judge everyone else except themselves.

A Mom

My Dad took all his boys to the barber as a rite of passage when they were looking past the toddler age. Cutting their hair is an admittance on the mother's part that they are indeed not a baby anymore, and is a little tough, on the mother. That's Mathew's job, and going to the barber for the first time is not nearly as traumatizing for a kid as is being called a 'beautiful little girl'. Broderick need to get on it and exhibit some fatherly leadership. Buy him his first baseball cards or glove afterwards and make it fun and meaningful.
