Robin Williams has postponed the rest of his comedy tour to have heart surgery.
A statement just released by his reps says Robin will have "to undergo surgery for an aortic valve replacement" -- and said his tour will hopefully pick back up in the fall.
The release also included this statement from Williams:
"I'm so touched by everyone's support and well wishes. This tour has been amazing fun and I can't wait to get back out on the road after a little tune-up."

What does his jokes being bad, or him being played out(in your opinion) have to do with his health? People are so mean, and disrespectful these days. Im glad he's gotten more positive comments than negative, and Robin, you've been great since day one, and you are Def. in my prayers!:)
Get well soon Robin from all of us from New Zealand. You truly are one of the greatest comedians ever. You rock!
OKAY Robin, when are you releasing your new hit on getting your coumadin levels checked??????? Can you just imagine
the positive impact that would have on obese Americans???????
On a serious note, I pray that you will have a speedy recovery. I do honestly believe you can make lemonade out of this.
Leave it to Patch Adams to positively impact all sorts of obesity related concerns: diabetes, kidney failure, cancer........
Only Mrs Doubtfire could pull this off!
I have always thought that you are an amazing, gifted human being. Hang in there, you will be ok. Best wishes & prayers.
Since when did you have to be funny or entertaining to be a highly paid comedian?
Robin is as funny as they get. His ability to ab-lib is second to none. Look at Good Morning Vietnam. That was mostly ab-libbing and in the proper character he was playing. How many others could have done that?
